As a young soldier in 1971 I still recall riding down a dusty road in a M-109 self-propelled 155mm howitzer, my upper torso protruding from the commander's cupola, with this song and the Rolling Stone's "Sympathy for the Devil" playing in my head. "I rode a tank, held a general's rank, when the Blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank." I am an old man now but hearing this I can close my eyes and be transported back over a half century to where I am again that teenaged soldier and invincible.

Even so East Germany had very strict border control from immigrants and the older phases of Germany from 2nd Reich/Prussia to the Schismatic Germany during Cold War had good relations with Middle Eastern countries without having both sides infringing their civil matters on migration level, what Merkel stands being even more cynical as part of social liberal Europe which stems from Classical Liberalism where it's slowly corrupt not just Germanic values, but the entire traditional values around Europe and started crawling in outside Europe Not to mention today Germany are just pawns of not just EU, but both USA and Israel while also dependent on the traitorous Gulf Arabs which overtook Ottoman Empire and destabilizing relatively stable Authoritarian 'secular' Arab countries, it's a bit more complicated than what you might think and these incursions and outside players are mostly winning from the triad of Anglo-American, Wahhabi/Saudi Salafism and Zionist circles

Thank you for this outstanding performance of a simple german marching song. Yes, it was sung throughout WW2 by German Panzer troops, but although it wasn't by any means an "official" Bundeswehr (German Army) song, I myself had been singing it (although only the first verse) when serving 1972/73 in Panzer Bataillon 314, 3rd Panzer Division. We used to sing that song sometimes when marching to our tanks in the early morning. Here is the original text plus english translation, if anyone cares: 1. *English Translation* 1. In rain storm or snow Or in sun's laughing light, In day's scorching heat Or in bitter cold night, Our faces covered with the dust But hearts with joy are filled (Yes, joy are filled), Our panzers like whirlwinds Advance in the field. 2. With thundering engines And lightening fast speed We charge toward the front On our steel sided steed, And leading on our comrades In the fight alone we stand (Alone we stand), We break through the ranks Of the foe's hostile band. 3. When foes may appear With their tanks in our sight, We step on the throttle And race toward the fight. What value then has life for us? We serve the Reich's army (Yes, Reich's army), Our life's highest honor We give Germany. 4. With trenches and mines The foe seeks to impede, We laugh in derision And pay him no heed, And when he trains his guns on us Emplaced in yellow sand (Yes, yellow sand) We find other ways That the foe had not planned. 5. And when fickle luck Will desert us at last Then comforts of home Are but memories past, And when the fatal bullet strikes us Then no one can save (No one can save) Our panzer wil be Our glorious grave.

The German Tanker's march!! OUTSTANDING!!!
@Southprong593 ай бұрын
One of the greatest marching songs ever! I get super pumped every time I hear Panzerlied!
A truly beautiful performance combining such divergent qualities in perfect harmony as strength and determination (mainly by the wind section) as well as poignant, lyrical emotions (by the string section). Enthusiasm was added in complimentary fashion by the audience. Long live Japan, together with the noble, loyal, resourceful and talented people of Japan!

Many of the comments doesn't seems to know that they're playing this song because it was used in the OST from an anime called Girls und Panzer, which isn't that popular worldwide besides it's fairly niche fanbase, but is quite popular in Japan. I seriously recommend to check out it's OST, it consists mostly of many war marches arrangements from the WW2, not only from Germany, but from all the nations. Also, the anime itself is really good, even if cute girls anime is not your thing it is still worth checking out for the great tanks battles it has, the great soundtrack, the humor and the references.

There are still many at home in the Fatherland and abroad, who embrace the old Prussian ways and there are even military units around the world who still parade in the Prussian form. Germany has much to be proud of and much to embrace and cherish and revere but the politically correct crowd would have everyone forget who they are and who they came from. That to me is wrong and just another attempt to make us all into drones for the world order. Everyone equal, no one exemplary, no character and no remembrance of those we came from. Germany became a world power from a small grouping of states run by different princes and kings to a nation united under one king whose military might we known and respected in all of Europe. That is no history to be ashamed of.
