Sound effects laid over the music soundtrack....haunting. And the ending theme is beautiful. Thank you. PS I read A Bridge Too Far a few times as far away as 60 years ago. At age 74, I still remember, remember those who fought, survived, and died as we all should. The Dutch most assuredly do.

Thank you for the comment and the Netherlands anniversary events are jam-packed with people, even if there is almost nothing to see or do. The Dutch really want to be part of it. In Normandy or the Bulge people really need to be fishhooked with German tanks and other cool stuff to get it growded with people.

Thanks so much for a great then and now video. I took a course in high school on WW2 and videos like these add so much more to reading and watching videos of actual combat filmed back then. To see many of the homes, buildings and churches still standing and roadways going past the fields where the British and American gliders landed (and many of those fields are still being used), it adds a perspective to the history of the area that you don't get unless you actually visit Holland or watch videos like this. Again, thanks so much.

I got several side eyes, weird looks and one person in Belgium stopping me and he knew precisely what I was filming, which I found to be real funny, since I was filming plants and bushes.

@@PanzerPicture The displayed pictures show that people know they live in an historically important area. Maybe some were assuming it. I live close to Aachen and see remains of the 2WW each day on my commute and it is nearly always on my mind. It is important that we never forget how close we are to chaos and suffering to prevent it from happening again.
