The Grant looks so...civilized, with its rounded turret and the stylish desert fenders. The Lee model, on the other hand, looks more like a brash, up-front brawler. They're my 1st (Lee) and 2nd (Grant) favorite tanks of all time.

Rommel considered the M3 Lee/Grant to be the best Allied tank of the war until the Sherman arrived. British tanks couldn't fire an HE shell, and when they did get the 6 pounder, the HE shell was incredibly weak and ineffective. The M3 was the first tank used by the British that could actually do what a tank is supposed to do, support infantry by firing HE shells (86% of shells fired by Allied tanks were HE) and it could easily knock out Panzer III and Panzer IV with it's 75mm gun, and the 37mm gun could penetrate the side armor and it had a very effective case round which fired a huge cluster of steel balls at high velocity like a giant shotgun, crews said this was very effective against infantry, especially Japanese infantry in the jungle.

Awesome video!!! One of my favorite tanks of WWII. Also, though it is the M3 Lee variant, do love seeing this movie in the movies: Sahara (with Humphry bogart) 1941 (by Steven Spielberg)
