Back when I was a kid, had no idea what a German language is, and learned about Panzerschreck from videogames for the very first time, I thought to myself: _"Who the heck wrote the name for this weapon? Why would he put 'ch' between 's' and 'r' and made it harder to spell correctly?"_

@@endless_limes Indonesia is one of those countries who have poor age-restriction system when it comes to the distribution of videogames. I could get my hands on *_Call of Duty: World at War_* even though I was still a 12-year old 6th grade elementary student and nobody in the store would care. The game also doesn't require you to be highly fluent in English to progress, all you gotta do is simply aim and fire at the enemies and their tanks then you will eventually proceed into the next mission by itself. My English was pretty much broken and I barely understood the whole story. Cutscenes are only shown in black and white, which made my 12-year old brain even more confused on what the hell I was actually watching. The WWII history lessons in Indonesian schools mostly focused more on the Japanese occupation of the country, which was the reason why the only factions I could tell in the game were only the Americans and the Japanese. My school didn't have German nor Russian language lesson. There's no way I could tell if "Dimitri" was actually a Russian name and he was a Soviet soldier fighting against the Germans.

Only the Panzerschreck in Hell Let Loose and Day of Infamy will actually fire. The Days of War version is weird at aiming. Also the United Offensive/BF1942 Panzerschreck will bring the rocket fumes straight to your face, which is why shields were created.

They are antitank and not for blowing up buildings. So they have a high penetration which causes a lot of shrapnels inside a tank. So yeah they are some Kind of heat but you can't really compare them. But they are not high explosiv.

One of only two games that recognize the electrical priming system the Panzerschreck used. -Days of War: Where front sight post? Why no use sights? Also, where rocket go when put in tube? - CoD United Offensive: Man, video games have come a long way. Also, "Remember, Hans. You musst make sure ze rocket is screwed in or it vill fall out vhen you shoot." -Forgotten Hope 2: *Carefully aligns sights for maximum German precision* -Post Scriptum: The most methodical reload here, and one of the best animations. There's just one wire missing. ("Und remember to tighten ze rocket, Hans!") -Call of Duty 2: Where rear sight? ...The first known instance of "schnell-scopen" in the Wehrmacht. -Medal of Honor: "Just put the tank inside the little window and you'll hit it." -Day of Infamy: Instant deafness! It's also one of the only two games that use the electrical priming wire, though it's a shame that step is hidden off-screen. -Battlefield 1942: "Und for mein next trick, I vill make a rocket appear from thin air!" The shoot sound is also quite whooshy. -Sniper Elite III: *SLEIGHT OF HAND PROOOOOOOOOO* -Black Ops: Where's the rear sight? WHERE IS IT, REZNOV? Also, the excessive re-use of all three reloading sounds is present. -Day of Defeat Source: "If I can't see vhere I aim, ze enemy cannot predict my shot!" -Medal of Honor: Airborne: Very detailed rear sight. ("Are you screwing the rocket into ze tube, Hans?") -CoD World At War: Look, this guy's super near-sighted and has to get real close to see what he's doing, all right? Lay off. This is clearly not a formal examination of every game's qualities, and it started going downhill right out of the gate. I'm not trying to offend the Germans in the comment section, but the "You see, Hans" jokes are just too easy to make with this set of games.

It's amazing how most video games get this weapon wrong. Either by not including the connection of the rocket to the tube or by wrong use of the iron sights. COD2 and WaW completely lack the rear sight altogether, both in aiming and physically on the tube. Post Scriptum views the front sight from under the rear? Wtf? Also want to point out how PS also has the shield positioned far too forward on the tube. There is a photo from the wartime of British soldiers with a captured weapon with its shield like this, but in reality it probably slid forward.

Because the devs said that adding the Panzerschreck in BFV "wouldn't make sense" and "couldn't balance it", which is full of BS. They could have just made it like the German version of the Bazooka that appears in the game, kind of like how they reskinned frag grenades per faction

Hell let Loose : Great sounds, model and animation, in this game they depicted it correctly by connecting the rocket wires to the launcher. Days of War : Shit sounds, decent model and bad animation, it is wrongly depicted like CoD WWII. Call of Duty United Offensive : Decent sounds, model and animation for a 2004 game, same as the previous, it is wrongly depicted. Forgotten Hope 2 : Decent sounds, model and animation, still wrongly depicted. Post Scriptum : Fantastic sounds, model and animation, but they depicted it wrongly again. Call of Duty 2 : Bad sounds, decent model and animation, it is wrongly depicted and to be honest the first Call of Duty had better sounds. Medal of Honor Allied Assault : Decent sounds, model and animation for a 2002 game, it is wrongly depicted.
