The disrespect to the club legend infuriates me. Maldini gave his career to the Rossoneri. 8 trips to the UCL finals, won 5 lost 3. He was there on Rossoneri's 5 out of 7 UCL wins. He contributed a lot to the winning mentality and reputation of the Rossoneri. Maldini is synonymous to AC Milan. Maldini is Milan. They can't say that he is doing a terrible job. Under his tenure Milan won the Scudetto for the first time after 11 years and this year's Milan made it back to the UCL semi-finals after 16 years, Milan will also participate in next season's UCL. 2 things. One, it seem what cardinals wants is a money ball strategy where you data to find 'consistent' players instead of exciting player. Maldini was a big believer in young talent, with the encorperation of experienced players to guide them. Of course in order to get young talent you need to spend money, something the big man was clearly against. Second he fired him probably out of fear, and ego. A big reason for their feud is Maldini wanted part ownership of the club, Cardinale wouldn't let that happen. Maldini is also extremely popular Cardinale probably felt as if he was 'losing' power, Maldini had too much support. Again it's stupid he's a stupid man, and it ls a shame because Milan were about to do something great.
