Great show and prowess (as one would expect from him). But (from the translation): "Most of the old musicians were able not only to improvise, but also to compose." Such musicians still exist evidently and while it's easy to write them off as just another type of "pop music" players what they're doing really isn't that different from what was done in the XV-XVIII centuries that gave us the Early Music repertoire we now appreciate so much (not to mention much of the smaller-scale 19thC repertoire). I'm still waiting for a gamba player to follow in the footsteps of someone like Mike Dowling, just about any of the "Tonewood Amp Artists" or why not even of singer-songwriters like Darrell Scott.
