ive had a job in the past where me as entry level was within eye sight of the CEO. ive seen a few other people comment its a bad thing and its done for control and is bad for the employees, but honestly, it depends on who the CEO is. if theyre an a hole then sure, but in my experience, and best i can tell from this video, its a positive thing. it was my manager at this job that was the one i avoided at all costs, not the CEO.

Thats normal. Thats literally her job. Everywhere in the world in that industry does the same. The idea doesnt have to be out of this world/unique. It can be related to a current project your company has or your team is working on. Example @ 4:45 the little figurine is one of her 50 ideas/products last year, which, Im assuming was part of the "beatcats" project that her team was working on.

I'm always amazed at the incredible behind the scenes logistics Paolo has to go through to 1) get permission from the company, the worker, and other related office/co-workers to allow him to showcase their lives, products, etc. Equally amazing are all the things he does like recording the waking up and morning routine scenes (I'm sure they had to wake up earlier to let him in their apartment), as well as getting ahead to the train station platform to capture the worker exiting the train! I've liked this series a lot and am glad more and more companies are allowing a sneak peek into what it is like to work in different job sectors in Japan!

Ive thought about this. And in this video atleast it seems like they met at the train station for the first time as he introduces the video there and says how excited he is. As he goes home with her later then I assume they recreate the morning routine as this would be easier probably. No Idea how he captured her walking to the train station then though. Probably Paolo is being approached by the company to promote their products. The company selects top performance employee to represent them. At the end, it’s a win-win situation for Paolo, the company, and the employee. They all get their fare of share. It all makes sense. Amazing. I was thinking "wow" when I saw most of those toys. I'm retired now. I spent my life as a computer programmer, and project leader. Working at SEGA seems like one of the best jobs in the world.

We were involved in the creative strategy for the IR/Casino project in Yokohama. Sadly, because of COVID, everything was postponed. I have visited all those places. To me it’s really interesting that Kana majored in sociology and became a toy designer! I have a friend from college who works for a toy company as a designer in a major city here in the US, and one of the hiring requirements for her department was for them to have some type of design / art degree. (My friend has a BA Illustration degree) A sociology major makes sense though, for this type of job. You need to understand trends and human behavior to know what kids will want, after all!

It seems she has a lot of freedom doing her job besides meetings and due dates, like no one its monitoring her work, she just does it and shows the results. Thats nice. Also, she enters i assume around 9am or something like that, only 30min commuting i think that being Japan its awesome. The working time its also incredible for being japan, she made her 8h (+lunch time) and went home. She started the day at a pretty nice hour in the morning and left not so late in the afternoon and didnt make extra hours (although it seems some of her coworkers did). It seems a great environment for work actually

IIRC the toy cat on the CEO's desk (7:19) looks like a model used in our neurology center and hospice care settings to calm patients with dementia. It has sensors that cause it purr and do cat-like things when you interact with it.
