Can't believe you're at almost 600k subs now. Last April in 2018, I took a trip out to Tokyo and found your channel which then had less than 60k subs. I was sitting there absolutely jaw dropped in terms of how absolutely great your content was. The combination with the hand drawn maps by Maiko was just the cherry on top. Really glad to see you getting the recognition you deserve and also really glad that you are letting us get a tiny glimpse into who Paolo is outside of his "guide" personality. Keep up the great work and much love goes out to you and Maiko as you guys embark upon a chapter of your life that neither of you probably ever even fathomed!

I knew his channel would grow so big cuz I could see he put so much effort and time into every video. All the videos were so interesting to watch. I was worried how he can keep up with these videos without viewers. Now I'm so happy your channel is growing!!!

Hi Paolo, I'm Sheryll from California. I love to travel. I just came back home in the US a few days ago from visiting my friends in Japan. We went to Osaka, Kyoto, Takayama, Ainokura, Shirakawago, Nagoya, Saitama and Tokyo. I did some extensive research about Japan before I went. As I was doing that, I came about your channel and you are my favorite vlogger in youtube when it comes to Japan. You were part of my trip as I kept on mentioning your name to my friend whenever we encountered something in your video...Paolo did that or Paolo said that. You were like a friend to us. I was hoping to see you in Tokyo after all it's a small, small world. It didn't happen. Probably on my next visit. Congratulations on your channel and more blessings to you and Maiko!

Wow this is the perfect channel for me! I lived in Tokyo when I was 5-8 years old, and have so many vivid memories of Japan. I lived in Minato-ku, Nishihara-cho. I remember walking or riding my bike down to the machi to buy candy or books. i remember the hot potato salesman, yelling "Oyaki-mo!" as he pushed his little cart. So many senses are piqued when I think of Japan. Rode the bus to the American School. Anyway ... I also ended up living in Manila from 14-18. I could write a book about living in the Philippines. So your experiences are so meaningful for me! We kids who grew up living in different cultures call our selves Third Culture Kids (not our parents' culture, not part of where we live culture, we are our own, "third" culture). Just wanted to say "hello".

Just got back from Japan yesterday and was there for about 11 days. All I brought was long sleeves, jeans and beanies. You can imagine how warm I was the entire time- expecting more fall weather lol. But i loved Japan and am already looking forward to my next trip there! P.S. this is such a touching video. When you talk about Maiko it is so beautiful. When you almost cried I almost cried. So happy you two found each other and found success. Love you both and love your content, keep it up!

I would be interested to see a video in your “DAY IN THE LIFE” series from an international student in Japan. Or similar to you someone who is going through getting a work visa or is a foreigner working in Japan.

I love this guy. Super kind, honest and respectful. I’ve been to japan 1 time, I stayed for 2 weeks, it was the best trip of my entire life. I watch all of Paolos videos to remind myself of the beauty of japan. I also am jealous that he is so hardworking and genuine! I wish I could be half of a productive person!

hey paolo, I finally made it to japan and I planned my visit almost exclusively by watching your videos. I've dreamed for years of visiting my brother and his family in hachioji, and you were a huge help in finding fun activities even he didnt know about, and hes lived in japan for 8 years. Thank you so much for your content!

So cool to hear more about your journey and how you and Mike make such an awesome team. Life can be so fragile and surprising. You followed your dreams. Some worked, but all were great learning tools. You're definitely the "Hey! I could do that!" type person. Me too. My career took me all over the world, but never Japan. I initially came father 3/11 to work with a mission team in aftercare for survivors in temp housing. Never planned to go to Japan, or even much wanted to. But I came and fell in love with the people. Planning my 4th trip after the restrictions lift, and hope I can meet you and Miko and baby! Peace and Love!

Three things: I saw your proposal... it was so sweet. Much like this video. We love you and Miko! You change lives every day. We have been following you for quite some time now. Thrilled to see your success. You inspired my husband and I to go to Japan, which was the furthest we had ever been from home. It was life changing for us. Thank you Paolo and Miko.

I feel like I'm in a dream... I've been thinking of moving to Japan for a long time now, and naturally, I came across your channel and became very obsessed with your videos. As an entrepreneur myself, I'm always curious about career paths of big KZbinrs like you, and the journey they've gone through to get to where they are now. And as SOON as I was about to ask you to make a video about your life, you uploaded this video... the timing is still freaking me out LOL Anyway, thanks for sharing your journey :)

Hey Paolo! Thank you so much for this video! I've always been curious about how you started you KZbin channel ever since I saw your video about top 10 things to do in Shibuya. My girlfriend and I watched this video before we went to Japan and it was indeed very helpful! And my girlfriend was the one who recommened me start a channel about Korean culture and language since she knew I loved talking about it with my friends. So you are my inspiration, and motivate me to become fun and educational channel about Korea in my case! Thank you for creating such useful contents online and I wish you luck in your KZbin career now that you decided to go in full time:) P.S- I really resonated with you on the part about how you started teaching, started your own company, and being financial advisor has helped you get to where you are. I feel as most people only care about the successes but the truly important ones are the experiences that you did not necessarily succeeded but you learn from them. Just wanted to tell you

I am an avid fan of your KZbin channel and used your videos as a reference on my visit to Japan earlier this summer. I wish you and your wife nothing but the best and look forward to following your next chapter.

Loved this video! I quit my job and I’m trying to do yt videos while also trying to kick start my handywoman business. It’s been a journey since I quit my 9-5 economist job, and it’s been a hella slow start to my business but I’m excited. Taking it day by day. I’m so inspired by you and when I went to japan earlier this month, your videos were so helpful! Keep it up and I enjoyed this getting to know you video.
