It sounds cliché but this day genuinely changed my life. Without going into to much detail. As a son of the early Noughties Papa Roach's music had a significant impact on my life, helping me cope with childhood traumas. Along side other similar bands of that era. From a young age I have always wanted to be a Medic. I started out at the age of 14 as a volunteer working from St. John Ambulance. It included providing voluntary Medical cover at events such as Download. I was a pit medic operating on the right side of the stage. You can see me at various points throughout the video. That said, Papa Roach's set wasn't the highlight of my day. The highlight was seeing Jacoby Shaddix backstage pre-set. Too shy to introduce myself and thank him for having such a profound effect on my life. I didn't approach him. To this day it remains one of my life long regrets & most incredible moments. Stone Sour had played earlier that day & seeing Corey Taylor shred it was what can only be described as a 'One off & unique experience". Anyway I just wanted to let Jacoby Shaddix know that I am now ten years into a successful career as a Paramedic. But that 16 year old still wants to thank you! Keep rocking.

I was there that day, and if memory serves right at the end of the set a WW2 bomber flew overhead (East Midlands Airport is very close so there are plenty of planes flying low throughout the day, but mainly passenger jets) causing Jacoby to collapse laughing while saying his thank yous to the crowd.

What a throwback and what an amazing gig! And music aside, the best of it is that there weren't those f****ing mobiles back them. The crowd just enjoyed the show. I saw p roach for the last time in 2020 before lockdown. Little did I know it would have been my last gig. That's why I cherish it double. Thanks to the band for giving us such good music. Whenever I hear Scars I have a picture of me in a precise moment. Love that song to bits. 🤘p roach from the very bottom of my ❤

Thanks so much for uploading this. During the peak of lockdown, I started making a lot of festival setlist playlists of Download Festivals over the years, as well as Warped Tours, Ozzfests, Mayhem Fests, etc on Spotify. I've also been compiling a lot of full concert videos to that end. And now I spend a lot of my work day listening through said playlists.
