I grew up with Metallica's guitar harmonies, Pantera's heavy riffs, Dimes unprecedented solos and Slipknots aggressiveness. Not to mention dozens of other bands. Then SOAD came along. The vocals harmonies of Dan and Serj were never experienced elsewhere. Just phenomenal, and still are today.

Daron’s guitar performance & sonic dynamics impressed me most, while Shavo & John gave him & Serj the rigid backbone to showcase themselves. I just saw them a month ago and they were so awesome! The show was pushed back twice, once for Covid protocols, and then because Serg got Covid, but it was worth the wait. They were supposed to play with Faith No More but Mike Patton cancelled and we were stuck with three other band, one we missed all together, one that was ok, and one that we hated and went to eat while they played. Sorry to disappoint guys, but it's actually all 3 at once. It's one of the most impressive performances live because not only all of them are fucked but their instrumental front man is literally FUBAR, as seen on the small clips people pointed out. Notice that everytime one of the band mates fazes out into space they instantly remind each other to wake the fuck up and play. It's beautiful. To this day I haven't seen anyone play live as FU as Daron here in front of a huge crowd. Takes guts to do that. Also it was the first and only time Serj came out with initiative to start out Bounce in a cool way and he was so pissed off at John for not starting the song, he never did it again 😂 From Lowlands onwards Daron always gives the que and starts the song. You can find the death stare at around 50 min into the show.

@@CarsCatAliens I saw them 02.04.22 so less than a month ago in Los Angeles and they sounded awesome! Put together, Sergs' voice was good after Covid, the guys were all playing together really well. Sometimes when you go to a live show and a band sounds nothing like a studio album it's a let down but it was a good show except for some of the other trashy bands playing with their trashy fans taking seats they didn't pay for.

I saw them a month ago in L.A. they were great, the only band in the line-up worth seeing after Faith No More dropped out. What wasn't great is that instead of regular security that actually does things like breaks up fights and keeps assholes out of the aisles and stairways, they had cops, with guns, who did jack shit about anything. The whole show was a huge fire hazard, you couldn't get up the stairs to go anywhere because people left the seats they bought and just went to the lowest place they could get in the stairs and aisles. It was kind of a shit show.
