If you want to train fighting, knock someone out, or find someone the guards have knocked out, and kidnap them. Bring them home (after looting completely) (or the shack) close (and lock) the door, stick them in bed, and patch them up... not the limbs... Whenever he wakes up, beat him unconscious. Heal. Repeat until he dies. This works great for assignation, too. Do this right, and you can have your very own nugget, especially once you've got a cage. Hell, have a room full of nuggets... I don't think the ankle cuffs will work, but screw it. I've started collecting limbs as trophies. Only do this to bandits and the like. No one in the hub will sell me property, now...

It just seemed to me that this city was controlled not by the Western Hive, but by some new faction. 4:11 I remember that Genesis kind of added a kind of outskirts of the city, additional buildings in front of the city gates, not just additional walls... 5:37 This weapon requires 24 strength (because 0.6 blunt damage*40), while Ruka has increased strength compared to vanilla (where she has about 5 strength), but she still suffers from a serious lack of strength. Personally, I would suggest arming her with a saber instead of this monster, but that's on you. 07:09 As far as I remember, the guards are only looking for illegal items, they don't care about stolen ones. He was lucky it was his left leg and not his right. After all, it is from the right foot that the fogmen begin to eat their prey. He was also lucky that none of the three princes who ate him hit his bad leg during the fight with my guys (yes, prisoner cage/pole does not make the character immune to hits, therefore, during the fight next to the prisoner, a blow from a character hostile to the prisoner can inflict harm to the prisoner), instead repeatedly hitting him in the stomach, otherwise he would need a prosthesis. By the way, on that day, in addition to him, I saved two more Escaped Servants (one of them continued to fight at the time of my arrival, the second had a broken head and therefore died on the shoulder of one of the fogmen), one of which I also recruited (Mr. Broken Head turned out to be a traitor by personality type and preferred flight to joining). I learned this morning that toughness and medic stats were somewhat reworked in Genesis. Which makes early game/character development a bit tougher. So maybe that's why i can't beat a malnourished hobo 😂 though admittedly my gear still aint the best lol. Fair point about the heavy weapons, i may swap her over to something different. I forgot about the need for high strength. The bandages were all the hub bar had to sell by that point 😅 i was checking daily when stock refreshed to try and get better med kits. Rng bamboozled me!

@@PapaCheddar Well, the increased stats of these vagrants are also a partial culprit. After all, in the original game, the average stats of the Hungry Bandit are around 5, the Hungry Bandit Leader is around 7. As I said earlier, the Naginata Katana can be a decent option. Not sold everywhere (Mongrel, alas, does not have them), but The Hub has such weapons, the refitted blade (at best) is not very high quality, but for the first time it will do, also not too expensive. There is also a lower chance that this weapon will be taken from you, since most opponents will have nowhere to put such a long weapon. 😂 The other option I would consider is the Ringed Sabre, not so long weapon and no additional damage against humanoids, but more powerful (which roughly compensates for the lack of bonus damage)and with fewer penalties, making it more versatile. In my opinion, you also have not very well chosen armor, not only weapons. I would say that in the early stages, heavy equipment is more of a hindrance than a help. Of course, with REALLY good quality armor you can hold out longer, but there are situations where victory is simply not worth it and therefore it is easier to avoid a fight by flight, which heavy armor with a lack of strength can interfere with "a little" ... ...especially since Genesis can potentially include into itself a "logical" improvement of aggressive animals so that they eat you alive, and not just lose interest in you after you lose consciousness, I saw something like that, albeit not in Genesis.... Back to armor. I would say that among the original equipment (as I said: I am not familiar with modern versions of Genesis), the best options for a weakling are: Drifters Leather Jacket, light (4kg), cheap (Specialist Grade will cost you only 7K when other light armor of this quality level will cost you about 11K), with full vitals coverage (I'm looking at you, Assassin's Rags!), decent resists, a couple of bonuses and no penalties. The Black Plate Jacket is heavier (5kg), more expensive (Specialist Grade will cost you 16K... you can buy it from Shinobi Thieves for half price though) and has four penalties (most notably Dexterity), but it has full hand coverage and better resists, plus gives you some protection from acid rain. Other options? Ninja Rags (more expensive than Drifters Leather Jacket and worse protection, but more bonuses), potentially also Dustcoat (good coverage and DIVINE environmental protection, but good luck just finding it on sale, not to mention finding a high-quality item on sale). As pants, either Drifters Leather Pants (cheaper, lighter, better blunt resistance, acid rain protection, can be bought at half price from the Thieves Guild, but worse coverage) or Samurai Clothpants (worse in everything except coverage, but that's what I appreciate the most : full leg protection and additional belly protection with the same cutting resistance as Drifters Leather Pants). Shoes? The original game only had one variant, in my opinion Genesis didn't change much... it just nerfed the Wooden Sandals, but introduced the Straw Sandals with virtually the same stats as the original game's Wooden Sandals. Helmet? Remember you made fun of the breathing mask on one of the recruits? That's it, the Fog Mask has not the best coverage (70%), but relatively decent resistances, HUGE protection against harpoons (keep in mind, coverage matters for ranged attacks too) and full protection from duststorms and gas. As an exclusively combat option, I can note the Masked Helmet or Flared Helmet, but I would not recommend wearing this in regions with frequent duststorms. If I remember correctly, The Hub and Rebel Base are the only places where you can only find Basic First Aid Kits, even Hive Village has Standard First Aid Kits for sale. Although in my opinion it is much easier and safer to visit either Travel Gear in Squin or Booth Shop in Stack. For you, of course, the first option is almost uncontested. In addition, Travel Gear also sells some really GOOD stuff: the Advanced First Aid Kit and the Advanced Splint Kit.

Though the thieves are looking promising for some solid gear now lol. Since this episode was recorded i have made a few changes to gear. Primarily weapons. So I'd say we are in a much better place now 😂 But oh brother, genesis does not hold back punches. I've been grinding in the hub mainly. And they have been under near constant attack from dust/starving bandits. And the starving bandits like you said are way stronger. Guys with 40+ stats steam rolling the guards. Its a mad house! But selling equipment is booming 😎

I hope that in this version of Genesis, the cost of allying with them is the usual 10K, and not increased to, say, 100K... By the way, I didn't specify, but this is the only place where you can buy Fog Mask. In vanilla at least. Another fact about thieves: I may be wrong with how the chance of quality items on sale is calculated (the wiki mentions the chance as a percentage, in my opinion it is the CHANCES of the total chances of all quality levels), but this faction is one of the best sources of high-quality armor , 1 out of 146 Specialist chance, another 25 out of 146 High chance. But going off that, if it's right, then it sounds like genesis doesn't add it. But again, I'm dumb as fuck when it comes to this stuff, and i need to watch a tutorial everytime i mod anything using something other than steam workshop 😅

@@PapaCheddar Project Genesis is a large collection of mods, the main bulk of it is changing the existing cities and adding more cities, characters, weapons/items. I think the way the kenshi engine looks at it is this; If mod = 0 then you add PG which has the fist weapons mod = 1 then you have PG installed + install the standalone fist weapons mod mod = 1 still It wont conflict since those assets are already in place, the only time i've had issues with comparability/crashing is like if for example PG changes The Hub and then I try to add another mod that also changes The Hub such as Hub Restored by my buddy Karrec, that's when you'll run into issues. The Mod Tab (when you launch kenshi) is good at picking up incompatibility but if it couldnt identify that instance as incompatible and I launch the game anyways and try to go to The Hub, it'll crash when it tries to render it, or it'll just crash before loading your game. The safest mods to load in are weapon/item mods, any mod that adds new weapons or items won't conflict with anything unless it needs to add a new building to sell those items or they change the skin or appearance of weapons or items when you already have a mod for that. Like if PG changes how Meitou weapons look and I add another mod to change how Meitous look there might be a conflict with that. Hopefully that makes sense cause I just drank 3 tallboys and smoked weed and my spacebar is double spacing for some fucking stupid reason and it's tripping me out 🤬
