@freezeme360 a personal favourite is the hell spring. Small enough to to hide in shop dust. Large enough to fly across the room and land, apparently, in another dimension. Rumour has it you can place a 10mm socket under your pillow and a fairy will find it for you overnight

In 1994 I had a 16v Golf 2 which ran a Bosch high pressure pump like the one you opened. A fitter and Turner friend and I opened it up and serviced it.......car ran another 180 000 km on it. He started a successful business doing repairs!!!!

Oh man... the flying E-clip. I started racing RC back in the 80's when they used E-clips on everything. I feel your pain trying to find that damned thing. Seeing the armature from that larger pump takes me back to the days of the Hudy Commutator lathe and cutting motors between rounds and tuning your brushes for the perfect amount of contact pressure and timing.

Interesting. I have disassembled a few pumps for fun and this is what i found. Bmw E30 318i: roller. Audi C4 V6: turbine. MB W210 V6: screws, like the pasta screws.

Shocked me a bit when I learned about it a few years ago. Honda recently had an issue where, in the pursuit of energy efficiency, they ran the fuel pump at variable speeds according to flow need. With some fuels this would cause sulphur build up in the motor and then pump failure. So a software fix was put out to increase the minimum speed. further, fuel carries away heat from the pump motor as well as lubricate and I assume clean it from commutator dust.

Great. Always full of information for small durations video. Maybe start from fuel pump and go in to the fuel safe and go in to the fuel lines and go in to the fuel rail to the injector or doubled and so on. In case used part that you and your team usually use in race cars. Maybe too many

i think a teardown of different types of differentials would be cool. the disk, the cone, the torsion. or a teardown of different types of transmission. typical 5-speed, dog box, and most importantly show the power flow inside the transmission.

Watching you look around on the floor for the part reminds me of the mistake some people make when painting the floors of their shop. Never put those flakes in the paint, you cant see any small parts against the backdrop of those flakes. Charles

Great info Steph, I find nearly all the older bosch external pumps start leaking at the body o ring but still work. I decrimped a couple of them to replace it, then just use them for fuel transfer
