It's too popular for its own good. So many people squashed together, it takes the edge off their enjoyment. IMO the carnival needs to move to a larger venue or start ticketing to trim the numbers a bit. Pains me to say it but I can't see another way.

The reggae they play is obscure...at Carnival they should be playing Bob Marley ..Dennis Brown etc...songs that everyone knows..they play music for a late night heavy dub club..not Carnival vibes...anyway where's Burna boy..Afrobeats 2022!!!

Although a sound systems job is to primarily entertain and that does mean playing music people know, it is also the job of a sound system to introduce people to new music. I played sound for many years and constantly faced this battle…..but I always believed promotion of new music and artists was one of the most important roles I played as a soundman.
