How is it that i see the top flipper flat down, with the bottom right flipper cradling a ball? Is this some souped up machine with a third flipper button? am i missing something?

On machines with upper-playfield flippers like Whirlwind, you can just use the lower flippers by lightly pressing the button. The upper flippers are actually activated by a second leaf switch behind the first one that activates the "main flippers."
