Excellent, don't know if ill ever make ir over to NZ (hope so) but a good reminder for me to not forget about the big scenic XC rides as I'm getting more into enduro style riding.

Nice day! I did half of the Old Ghost Road track when I was down there, heli up to the ridge and back down to the south end. I finally got around to a 60k day this summer in Colorado with a big chunk above 3000 meters that I had been meaning to get to for nearly 20 years.

Brilliant video Katie. A mate and I rode it Oct’ 23 in total opposite conditions. Heavy rain and winds so strong they closed the track for a morning. But it was a different experience and absolutely stunning.

Thanks! Oh woah that would have been wild!! That exposed ridge line in those conditions 😳 savage! I’ll bet some great stories and shared experiences though 💪

Well that was the complete Paparoa track in one day in good time. I thought she’s not going to do The Old Ghost Road as well. Oh my God. Roll it on. Awesome 👍👏👏

Hahaaaa, yep the once you’re over there may as well stack them up, right?! 😅 that video will be out in a week or so… stay tuned 👀 thanks for watching!!

Brilliant - wondered if it was plausible to do the whole track in a day. Not sure whether us mere mortals can manage it tho; seemed like a big day out! Looking forward to the OGR vid

I think so! It’s the first half that’s hard because it’s so rough, then some undulating but mostly down to the end. Started at 8am finished by 4, still plenty of light left in the day :) eat and drink plenty and keep pedalling 🔥 old ghost, more of a mission as you’ll find out……

Well done! These trails are on my bucket list to do. Just a matter of getting over the ditch from Tasmania. Apart from racing have you ridden in Tassie much at all? We have some great trails here too!

Was there a reason you chose to take your Mega and not your XC bike?! We did Old Ghost, Heaphy and St James as Whaka prep, and I would not have wanted to be on my Mega 🤣😂. The first two hours of Paparoa would have been miserable with 165mm of squish!
@KatyWinton7 сағат бұрын
Haha it was my Giga, but it was the only bike I had back in May! Had the DH tyres on too 😅 so yes, first few hours were miserable 🤣 that would have been great whaka prep, and fun!! Nice work 🔥

@@KatyWintonsorry, assumed it was a Mega! That also explains why you didn’t take your Epic!! You’d have had a much better time on the XC bike for sure. And good job on scoring the weather. I have a photo of us at the top of the Paparoa. Well, I say that, actually it’s just a photo of clouds, and us saying “I’m sure the view here would be lovely” 😂
