If your wondering How to Skin, Flesh, and stretch your mink I provide a brief video to just show how I do it at a slow easy to follow pace explaining what I am doing and why. This is not the only way, but this is how I do it, for preparation of tanning. I have not sold fur in years and just prefer to tan them myself for my own satisfaction so this means if it goes to market there area a few other steps to do. Thanks for watching.
Many more trapping videos in my trapping playlist.

Thank you so much, if it was defrosted would have gone much easier, but was able to go slow enough for new trappers to understand the basics. Thanks for watching.

Thanks so much for sharing and watching, yea I mean most regions you get 25 to 1 rats to mink, but my region is high mountains so we do not have cattail swamps and leaves us with mink and no rats. I usually dont catch many mink per season but I am happy when I do.

@@paparomesoutdoors711 A great job! Have a good luck! Mink fur is a gorgeous material. I like to buy fur garments or animal hides for decoration (fox, badger...) and videos like yours make me admire furriers’ skills. You process an "ordinary" beast into something that can decorate people or their homes. It is a hard but, in fact, a beautiful work although not for everyone.

Thanks for the response! I was thinking store bought. It’s fairly easy to find the deer hunter tanning formula but I’ve never used it. What way do you prefer? What way would produce the best results?

I gotta admit im not the best with a tail stripper, my brother loves it, but I was taught with criss crossing two nails in your knuckles and doing it that way or just my fingers seem to work better for me. I ripped a fox tail once and was so upset lol. Thanks for the support

@@zombie-v9i i have not heard of, or spoken to a trapper who ate mink. Mink are in the weasel family, as are skunks, all weasels have an oily stench that gets into the meat. And all unclean/carnivorous animals have parasites and diseases.
