In Turkish , we generally don’t use different adjectives to describe sb or sth in daily speaking . For an example ; we can use the word “pretty” which means “güzel” in Turkish for describing a car , a woman , a baby , a flower , a book etc. So this video is so helpful for me to see differences between those words as a Turk . Thanks a lot and hope to see more videos about seeing differences between different words 😊👍🏻

Charming has a cognate in portuguese (charmoso) that's not really formal, we use it all the time, when we want to say someone has "attractive manners" and not just looks, if that makes sense. So I use charming a lot! Never knew it was weird to use it in informal contexts! Thank you for the tip!

I always find these cultural differences quite fascinating. In Southern Africa we have an English culture of our own yet the accents and ways with words are similar. If I can think of the worst way to hit on someone I'd use a phrase from the Northern Vaal parts. They'd say something like: "You'd go nice with a bun and a coke". It basically means that you're a "proper piece of meat". Flattering.
