i think the main difference in properties can be summarised as the difference in adsorption on the paper. the component more adsorbent is left below while less adsorbent components travel up with the solvent :)

Hello again, just to clarify for my experiment I am using ethanol as the solvent and 5 metal chlorides as solutes. Now, my aim for my experiment is to identify some properties of the metals through the comparison of the Rf value. However, I do not know how to find certain properties of the metal through paper chromatography. Is there by any chance you can have a look at this problem? (ps. the only property that I found out to find, was the melting point...this is done through calculating the solubility and using a chart to show the BP of the metal)
@LabHamster3 жыл бұрын
I haven't performed this experiment, so I'm not sure what exactly your instructor is expecting of you.

Good demonstration I had a major failure in a paper chromatography experiment today. I could not separate either inks or food coloring in either tap water, distilled water or ethanol. @LabHamster9 жыл бұрын

@LabHamster8 жыл бұрын
Hi Hanwen, if the pain is really bad you really should get it checked out by an athletic trainer or doctor. Really bad pain could mean a stress fracture. It might not, but I want you to get it checked by someone qualified. I hope it is just painful shin splints and that you recover quickly! :)
