Is it a hack ? It's an intended feature. Every cutter I use have detachable part for snapping the blade.

Hey there ! The ones whom don't have a cutter like the one shown in video can use this hack . There is a small hole like that in the bottom of the cutter. In this they show that its beside but its down in your cutter if u look closely

Actually it's totally safe... The cutters have lines carved and the gripper on the back of the cutter is made to fit exactly where the carved line ends so the cutter breaks safely. But you never know so doing it with precautions is better.
