We should not use heavy weight cardstock paper just for 1 flower type or for all flowers?

For all the flowers I would recommend using just regular cardstock paper. I accidently bought the heavy weight because I didn't read the label properly so I just ended up using that, but buy the regular weight cardstock paper. It's much easier to work with and is still sturdy.

If you want the whole flower gold do you spray paint it after it’s done as well?

426_michelle Yes I’ve always spray painted the flowers when they completed. I’ve never tried painting the paper first. I think painting the flowers at the end would waste less paint. So yes my flowers are sprayed last. :) thanks for your question.

Also I forgot to mention if you want to spray the flower gold then make sure you make your flower using either cream cardstock or white. The gold translates brighter on those sheets compared to other colour cardstock sheets.

love the tutorials! just wish it was a better way to hold them up it doesn't seem secure for events with the thumb tacks.

I know what you mean, but I try not to spend too much money on decor so using tape, thumbtacks, and ribbon is just inexpensive and it really is secure. I had these flowers hanging up for days and they did not fall. However if you are uncomfortable with thumbtacks then I have seen other tutorials where people use command strips to attach the flowers to the backdrops. You could give those a try. :) If you find something else that works better then please share it with me so I can try it in the future also God willing. Thanks! :)

Your link is re-directing to the filedropper downloader. However, on your previous "Masquerade paper flower" tutorial you were able to download the template separately. Can you add the template to avoid the filedropper share downloader?

Yes that is where I have uploaded the flower templates. Filedropper allows me to upload templates for free so that other people may download them for free. Other websites charge money for this service but Filedropper does not which is why I use it.

For these flowers I used just regular cardstock paper. You can also use heavy weight but that paper is more tricky to work with, but I have made flowers in the past with heavy cardstock paper. In this specific tutorial it was regular weight cardstock paper. Thanks so much for commenting. :)

The backdrop portion is made from pink and white streamers from the Dollar Tree. You can purchase them anywhere. Its super inexpensive.

So with the template once u print them out u Trace them on the card stock paper

l eastman yes after I print out the template I trace it on 1 sheet and then clip 3-4 sheets together with the traced template sheet on top and then cut all 3-4 sheets together because they are clipped together. This way it’s easier and you get 3-4 pedals by cutting only once. It saves you some time. Hope this helps. Thanks

l eastman if you make it on regular paper then the flowers will be very flimsy. It is possible to use regular paper but they won’t last long. I would suggest using cardstock paper. Not super heavy duty. Just regular cardstock paper from michaels, hobby lobby, or even Walmart.

Of course you can. All the backdrops I have ever made were for specific parties that I was having and immediately after my events I sell my backdrops. I've never once kept a backdrop. They all sell fairly quickly. Paper flowers are very easy to sell, but I find people are not willing to pay a fair price for them since the flowers do take a lot of time to make. It is up to you.
