Man, I know how people like to compare it to Stranger Things. It's strange though since in Stranger Things, I myself am heavily into the plot. But with Paper Girls, my goodness the the characterizations of this girls is bar none and I just want to learn more and see their relationships grow despite a larger narrative. I want a long journey ahead with them all!

Stranger Things, without the 80's nostalgia bait or if set in the present, wouldn't be as popular. Paper Girls doesn't have to rely on that to tell a good story. Also, for both series set in the 80's, PG doesn't hold back with the cussing, racism, and other issues of the time.

wish more people with review and promote this. i'm so glad that the adaptation was good (not amazing, but good). i lowered my expectations when BKV's Y - the last man was adapted (and thankfully cancelled). was so happy with this show. CGI is a bit janky and some aesthetics were pulled directly from the comic which didn't translate well to live action, but that's not important since this show is all about the story anyway. i wanted to savor it and watch a couple of episodes each day but my wife insisted we finish it in one go (and she's the one who hasn't read the comics).

Timeline I'd go back to ??? As a black,male I'd go back to the 1800s,to show america the errors of their ways,hoping they'd free the slaves.America at this time were SO open-minded,friendly towards black-slaves,treated the black slaves like FAMILY and white men LOVED black,female slaves.

SPOILERS: The character development was great, although sometimes it felt like they were freaking out over unnecessary things, especially to do with time travel and how their older selves turn out. My major complaint is Larry, not his character, but the fact that he dies TWICE. How can he die in the past and the future?

If I could time-travel, first I'd get myself vaccinated against smallpox. Then, oh the possibilities! I could go to ancient Greece, convince everyone that I was a child of Zeus (and blame any language/cultural barrier on my Aunt/Step-mom Hera), and say that I was commanded by the Muses to have all of Sappho's poetry copied and translated into other Greek dialects. I could also say I was gifted by various half-siblings as well. I could go to the 1800's and convince everyone I could see the future and/or publish fanfiction of 20th and 21st century stories.
