How do you make your thumbnail?

@@emilellenius I take a photo of the paper airplane and then cut it off of the background in Adobe Photoshop. I also do some color editing in Photoshop as well. Then I take it over to Adobe Illustrator and add the background and shadow and draw the lines on top of the plane.

@@emilellenius That sounds awesome! If you're looking to make the instructions using a professional program, Adobe Illustrator is definitely the way to go. But, from what I read, the free program called Inkscape is a good alternative if you don't have Illustrator and don't want to break the bank. The main thing is that you definitely want to work using vector graphics. So if you don't know the difference between vector and raster images, do a bit of research on that as well. @@FoldableFlight Ok, thanks! I'm doing my instructions in inkscape. I have some experience working with 3D modelling software. It would be awesome if there were a program were one could simulate folding a plane and then automatically generate instructions.

I tried cutting 4 a3 papers into squares then sticking them together, and it's quite nice to fold, apart from the fact that it flies better, more stable, and just looks nice, ty

Another advantage of jets with landing gear is that the landing gear will prevent your plane from laying on its side. This means that you wont have to rebalance the aircraft before you fly it.

Can I make a small suggestion... The light coloured paper yellow especially doesn't show the folds very easily on camera... Maybe shift your side lighting to give you a subtle degree of shadow or use a more midtone paper.. it would make it easier to see what's happening as some times it's not obvious where a fold is going.. yellow blends with yellow. Great channel BTW and very good instructions!

Kyle, what kind of paper are you using for this model? I tried it with 20 pound copy/printer paper but way to thick for me to deal with. Plane came out but a good bit out of alignment as far as the wings. Does barrel roles out of balance and nose dives. It is just practice anyhow. Hopefully will get better with it!

Actually this is one of more simple jets. You should look at my page and watch the F-22 tutorial. Its not really that complex compared to other origami models but its impossible compared to regular paper airplanes.
