I think my favorite part of these videos is when you take the paint off the eyes. Your sculptures come to life after that. Love it, thank you for your point of view and talent.

Hello Lauren. Actually I've just painted it, mostly black with a little red and grey. I painted it those colors because it is Drogon from the Fire and Ice (George RR Martin) books and that is the color he is supposed to be. But thanks for the suggestions and the kind remarks. Maybe next time. Dan

I like you models v much, I discovered your You Tube page by looking up different ways to make my puppets limbs without the wood element as too fiddly all that sawing lol. I am going to try paper mache arms and legs instead. Is the material you use at the end of your models the same stuff they use for plaster casts as I use modroc for some of my puppet heads! :) from the U.K

Absolutely love the minotaur! Btw I'm working on a paper mache cthulu creature! Still trying to figure out the tentacles and how to bulk up the body (I used a form I made of a friend but...he's skinny xD and I'm trying to make a buff kind of creature! And I made the hands already and I hate to brag ...but I'm showing everyone I see haha they turned out so creepy and cool! XD except instead of paper stips I've been using a paper clay I came up with and it works like clay but sets like a rock! You really got my creative juices flowing haha thank you!!!!
@Gourmetpapermache9 жыл бұрын
Hi Zane. Sounds like you are having fun! Glad to hear it. I use paper clay once in a while when I want something cement-like. That's the problem with the stuff. It gets hard as cement. And I hate sanding. Still, you can make some great projects with it. Have fun! Dan
@AA-ky4qg9 жыл бұрын
GourmetPaperMache thanks Dan! And also something ive been curious since i started working, since im doing the paper clay mainly to sculpt, would it be wise to cloth mache?
@Gourmetpapermache9 жыл бұрын
I think the cloth mache is great for adding detail that is hard to get with paper clay. So I say yes, but I'm biased of course. Good luck

Hey man! I know you get this a lot, but your work is simply awesome. I have some simple questions to make, but in case you're too busy to help, I'd take help from any kind soul. What is that tape you use? It looks so "elastic" and makes the whole thing look so flawless. And how do you manage do cut it open and remove the paper from the inside? Is it because of the water and flour mixture? Thanks!
@Gourmetpapermache9 жыл бұрын
Hello Arthur. Glad you like my work! I just use masking tape. Nothing exotic. When the paper mache shell is dry, the wads of paper inside can be just pulled out. That leaves a light, strong shell to use for sculpting. Dan
