Paper Mario 64 Mod - Enemy Showcase

This is my Paper Mario 64 Mod - Enemy Showcase video (Mod Created in Star Rod).
The purpose of the video is to showcase what kind of enemies you can expect in my mod.
Even though everything you see is still W.I.P. and will likely change (like the tattle text, most of them were writen around 4:30 AM).

This mod is currently on a hiatus. I'll maybe continue this mod in the future, but I'm currently the custom enemy programmer for a different mod called CNA. The CNA mod will actually be completely custom, with new enemies, partners, custom composed music, all the maps are new with new textures, new story, new bosses etc. So I'm mainly focusing on that. I wish there were tutorials that actually showed you how to do all this stuff been wanting to do a a basic vanilla but harder mod with some custom enemies and all that

The way I learned it was by downloading the Pro Mode or Master Quest (don't remember which one) project directory and just looking at their custom enemies. For example the red clubba enemy from pro mode is one I looked at, check what the differences where in game from a normal clubba and then check the code on what they changed. After that I just started experimenting with some enemies by deleting some lines to check what some lines did. It didn't take long before I had a basic understanding of how to do it after that process. And once you understand the basic structure you can look at all kind of different vanilla enemies to see how they differ and then with trial and error you can basically create any custom enemy you want if you try hard enough (within reason and the PM limitations ofcourse lol) I remember trying to make a tutorial on custom enemy programming but that shit is hard lol, I ended up recording for like 30 minutes to explain how to make a goomba have a double bounce or something like that, it was a very unclear tutorial so I never uploaded it, audio was shit too.

@@xenomorph37 I believe you should be able to find Pro Mode's source files on the Paper Mario Modding Discord Server. The Master Quest one was a bit more gimmicky with them showing a url for a download link for it if you completed the pit of 100 trials iirc. There might be more out there now but the mod creator has to manually upload them if you want to check the code out.

@@xenomorph37 you can try to message me on Twitter DM's but I'm rather busy so I'm not sure how helpful I can be, my biggest advice would be to go to the Paper Mario Modding Discord to get help there. There are a lot of people who are just starting to learn and a lot of people who are way better then me and are still actively programming PM64. I've used that resource before and it's very useful, I do believe it also has some tutorials there as well.

Yeah it's not super difficult programming wise but it requires a LOT of sprites and animations. I wanted to make a mod like that but I couldn't be bothered to actually make all those sprites.
