To use these things/attacks, or whatever you want, you need to have a sticker in an album. The problem is, the album is really too little, so most of the time, you will never use any of the thing sticker. Moreover, some bosses require that you have the sticker in your album, and that you use it at the perfect time. And also, if you have a thing sticker (which are really huge), you can't have a lot of little attacks to finish the boss. The final boss is an absolute nightmare because of this. It has 4 phases, each one of them requires one or more thing sticker. Even with a walkthrough, you may have to retry because you couldn't finish him. And also, at the begginning of every fight or every turn, you have to use your coins to use more than one sticker in your turn. If you don't, well, I doubt that you can defeat the bosses. And the only way to have coins is to fight. This is also the only way to have plenty of coins. The fight are pretty much really useless. Finally, don't wait for the scenario : there is none. The only cool things in Sticker Star are the music and all the stuffs that they did with paper : every character is in paper, they know that and make some really good jokes.

So, I'm just stating my opinion. Your opinion is not wrong. You're completely right on how good it looks, but in order to attack you need stickers, and usually you end up wasting them on random encounters. Also, there's the lack of direction. I think 99% of us got lost in those woods where wiggler was, then there's the intense spike in difficulty in the desert area.
