Hello there Domainers! Welcome back to Game Domain. As long as this video is being released on time then today is the 5th anniversary of Game Domain! And to celebrate that we are making arguably our most ambitious video ever. A lot of you really seemed to like our Super Mario Characters - Good to Evil video, so we decided to make this one where we will do the same thing but for Paper Mario. We are only gonna be referencing events in the 6 Paper Mario games for this, so anything a character does outside of the series does not affect them in this video. Also, expect spoilers. For Origami King characters, we will give a warning.

Wow, its been 5 years since I started this channel back in November of 2015. The channel has come a long way as we have reached many goals in that time and have put some videos together in the past couple years I couldn't of even imagined making just 3 years ago. That being said, us at the Game Domain team hope you enjoy this video as it is one of our most ambitious videos of all time. And as we say in many videos, this is all just opinionated. I'm sure many of you will have disagreements and thats ok. No one is wrong. We put this video together because we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate a half decade of this channel as we have done many Paper Mario videos in the past. You are going to disagree with some of the video and if you want to bring up any disagreements you have, please do so in a respectful way, I think you will very much enjoy the video! Some I think we could have put in were Doopliss, Flavio, Rawk Hawk and Pennington but we wanted to keep this list from going on for hours. If enough of you want it we could do a second version of this video with characters we didn't include. EDIT 2: I’m still seeing a lot of comments about how we left off “many characters”. It’s just frustrating to see all of these comments when I’ve already addressed it here. If we had unlimited time to make this video, we probably would have included some more. We had less than 3 weeks to get this all done. While that seems like a lot, this had to be researched and written, then voiced, then edited. There was no way we could have had this done for the 5 year anniversary of the channel if we included every single video. I’m not talking about the comments that said they enjoyed the video and then brought up a couple they wish were in the video but comments from people who clearly watched most of the video and were most likely enjoying it who just have to comment “where is every single paper Mario character?”. It’s just frustrating that we put hours upon hours of work to make a 45 minute video as a passion project for the 5 year anniversary of the channel and some people can’t just be happy with that. They can’t say something like “I really enjoyed the video! I wish “x character was here but hopefully he’s on a possible part 2!”. So many people cannot just be happy with something they enjoyed but need to ask for more and make it seem like the video is just completely incomplete. Watching it made me think of a lot other characters that were left out (like Junior Troopa & many of the bosses from the games) and why certain characters were included while others were left out (like including Sling-A-Thing Toad & Shady Toad, but omit Toadette from TTYD). anyway, for some feedback, kudos to you guys for going through so many characters for this list! it's clear how much research and effort went into this and this was really fun to watch throughout. I enjoyed comparing the differences between the characters in the series as I watched through the list. for a couple complaints, I was a little confused by some of the character choices. the chosen toads should've been combined into one entry or removed entirely, which I also feel about the majority of very minor characters from the series that were included here, and I felt captain t. ode and the excluded chapter bosses should've been included in their place. also, the super paper mario villains should've been placed as more evil even despite their change of heart (also I found it weird how mimi's redemption wasn't noted), and I think more time could've been spent explaining the morality of each character rather than giving a simple play-by-play of their actions. those are just nitpicks though so they didn't really impact the quality of the video, especially since so much work was very clearly put into making it. either way this was a great watch. you fully earned a like and sub from me.

I’m really glad you enjoyed the video, especially enough to subscribe to the channel! That means a lot. The process of researching, discussing the characters with Matthew Pena who coauthored the script with me, and placing the characters in what we felt was a solid order was challenging. But more than that, it was a blast! We had fun making it, so I’m glad to hear you had fun watching. Really good list and can tell a lot of effort went into it! Other than Mimi being placed too low, as I wouldn't call her *that* much more evil than the other non-Dimentio SPM villains since she also had a change of heart like the others on Count Bleck's side, I pretty much agree with the placements here. I would also support a part 2 that goes through some more entries, and where they would've been placed between which characters on this list. Flavio, Captain T. Ode, and some bosses which have a distinct character (Doopliss, the other two Shadow Sirens, King Croacus, Legion of Stationary, etc.) have a larger role than some of the minor characters that were included on the list, and definitely could be looked into in another video. But overall this video was fun to watch

(This kind of turned into an essay unintentionally, so I'm going to try to get it under the Read More!) Yeah, I noticed that, too. I also noticed that every time that Count Bleck's plans were mentioned, it was not mentioned that, of the team, only Nastasia, Dimentio, and Count Bleck himself were aware that the plan did not include making new worlds to replace the old ones. O'Chunks and Mimi both thought that they would receive a new, "perfect" world that would be suited to their needs and wishes. They did not know that everything was going to remain destroyed, and just wanted peaceful places to live. Also, Nastasia tried to talk Count Bleck out of his plan multiple times. The two knew that Tippi was Timpani before Count Bleck began his "final" battle with Mario, and Nastasia tried to convince Count Bleck that he could return to his old life as Blumiere, which he rejected (his reasoning being that his identity as Blumiere was gone, which has interesting implications as to what the Dark Prognosticus does to its reader. Consider that the "Count Bleck" identity only emerged after Blumiere took the Prognosticus.) It was only after his defeat that he was willing to reaccept his old identity. What I mean to say is that Nastasia is certainly loyal to Blumiere and, depending on your thoughts, Count Bleck, but not to her Count's final goal. Edited for wording issues.

I could probably put Olivia above Tippi, simply because there are times where Tippi is more neutral in the story, meanwhile Olivia never even batted an eye. (i.e. when they first went into space, if you refuse to put on a helmet, she calls you an idiot and lets you die. Which is, admittedly, pretty funny.) As well as in Count Bleck’s castle, Tippi showed little to no sympathy for when their allies were presumed to be dead, urging for Mario to press on (I know they didn’t have much time, but it’s not a normal reaction to disregard what happened.) while Olivia, when she lost someone she cared about (Bobby and Olly) she showed a realistic sadness, sorrow, and grief.

Saying Francis is evil because he "kidnapped" what to him is a bug seems off. Like... he kidnaps tippi but from his perspective he found a cool looking bug and he's a bug collector. Most would see taking a bug that is with someone else theft, not kidnapping. He was mainly taking a bunch of pictures to show off the apparently rare thing he found on the net (granted he def has a bit too creepy an enjoyment of it) Him only letting "hot babes" into his room just makes him a perverted recluse. I would have given the Bronze medal to Beldam who wasn't mentioned on this list. I agree with Mimi being the 2nd most evil of Count bleck's minions as well as even being above Bleck due to how spoiled in nature she is and all those slaves. But she also does appear as one of the redeemed characters and in the post game, Princess Peach actually did inspire her to become much better. Even actually later being hired as maid in Merlee's mansion. So I wouldn't quite put her above Grodus. Beldam on the other hand was the true main villain of Thousand Year Door. She was the one who lied to Grodus and manipulated him to awaken the Shadow Queen. And the borderline bullying she did to Vivian is worse than anything the others did aside from Shadow Queen and Dimentio outdoing her. And her being an undercover servant of the Shadow Queen and her right hand also shows how evil she's been all along.

That’s a great point! I probably should’ve phrased it differently, I just tried to reflect the specific terminology used in the games, so I only used “partner” for 64 and TTYD. You know what would be great? If you did a 5-part series of your 5-hour list with every single Mario Character in the Mario series (including RPG). Part 1 is going to have the first half of the good (Purest to just very nice), part 2 will have the second half of the good (very nice to just outside the grey area), part 3 would be the grey area itself, part 4 is going to be the first half of the bad (pretty bad to very bad) and part 5 would have the second half of the bad (pretty evil to pure evil).

Yeah... Dimento definitely was more evil then count bleck... Been a while since I've played the game so I could be wrong but at least bleck was willing to leave his allies alive and create a dimension for them all to live in after there work was done with... But dimento didn't as far as I know he just wanted everyone else dead don't even remember why he was that way... Pretty sure it was like you said and that he felt like everyone deserved it...

I think that isn't because Luigi is evil. I think that's because "the man in green" was supposed to determine if the Light or Dark Prognosticus would become true. If the host for the Chaos Heart was determined by how evil the person was, then Dimentio would easily have that title.
