Paper Mario Master Quest: The Master 4 in 4 Minutes (8 turns)

I haven't seen anyone with a better idea yet. No RNG help is needed, he always does the same moves. The trick to this was realizing that he wastes a turn coughing every 50 hp he loses, so there is a lot of incentive for doing as much damage as possible, rather than drawing the fight out.
The fight is still easily doable without the powerup I got midfight, but I figured I would include it to make for a better speedrun time. Without the powerup, simply double dip your last hustle drink with another sweet shroom, block his next 2 hit combo, and then do 3 consecutive multi smashes in the next 2 turns.

Mario dealt 72 damage at once on one turn. That is enough to destroy the Crystal King in vanilla.

The fight as a whole? I'm sure it's possible with a well crafted station. Obviously in 8 rounds is probably out of the question, but with 2 HP plus, you could probably survive the first turn, but you'd also need help from items like Jelly Ultras

hustle drinks do exist (idk how to get them but they are there) and this fight is just from Master Quest mod that increases the difficulty of everything

Hustle Drinks were actually an unused item in the original Paper Mario, but they were brought back to life by the creators of this mod. The idea of Mario attacking twice in one turn would not be introduced in the Paper Mario series until The Thousand-Year Door, where Mario’s first partner Goombella learns a move called Rally Wink, which allows Mario to attack twice in one turn. That only lasts for one turn though, I have no idea how many turns the Hustle Drink lasts for though.

@@CometMedalChavez It lasts 1 turn. Kappy made a video about it, it had a lot of weird bugs and behaviors, which is probably part of why it went unused. For instance, if double or triple dipped after using an item like a repel gel, it will actually cancel out the invisibility. Or if you use it while having a negative status that doesn't immobilize you (like shrink), it will undo the shrink, but make Mario unable to move until getting another status. I imagine their QA found out about this and they tried to fix it, but just gave up and made it unobtainable without modifications.

Nope, just TTYD64 has NewGame+. With Dark Star Edition however, you can enter File Name codes to simulate NG+.

No, the first hack with NewGame + (kind of) was Dark Star Edition where you could enter a code in your file name. Master Quest did not have that present (although maybe when 2.0 comes out, it could).
