I admire this remake for somehow making an improvement to one of the biggest plotholes and most confusing bosses in the original game... by at least giving it a great new theme. It's called "Bowser Butts In" too, which is just great.

Kind of weird how Dark Craws got into the Pit of 100 Trials, but you wind up normally fighting Fire/Boomerang Bros. and the Magikoopa recolors exactly once per playthrough. Also, I have to wonder what kind of playstyle the developers were imagining for the “use partner skills” conditions to be any kind of curveball.

Power Bounce and Multibonk both got nerfed in the remake. They made the 4th and 9th jumps to be FRAME PERFECT. If you’re not good with frame perfect commands, the most hits you’ll get is 4. Not even equipping Simplifier badges will make it easier.

I guess it makes *some* mote of sense that, if Mario is claiming fame in Glitzville, Bowser would eventually catch word of it. And Bowser seems the kind of guy to just start attacking without even thinking that it's weird that everyone, even the posters, are referring to Mario with a different name. ... Again, it is a little sad to see Paper Bowser fall from such high places (... literally, in both his flying castle from 64, and presumably how he got "escorted" off the premises). They really were trying to find the right ratio of "actually threatening" and "comical goofball" for quite a while - I might be misremembering, but it feels like they finally got the right mix going for Bowser's Inside Story. (... Probably because they had to write so much dialogue and interactions for him.) ... Also, maybe I'm just easy to please, but I found it amusing that the first Dark Craw you encounter is referencing Gus... both being "gatekeepers" in some regard. Interesting that they changed the laugh they have when they score a hit with the spear, but I guess it makes sense to play their otherwise hidden laughter animation than just have them make weird noises.

Multibonk still has the same issue as Power Bounce with the frame perfect bounce 4. It's just that the timing for that 1 frame on Multibonk is strangely different from the one on Power Bounce, which might be why you have an easier time with it
