Such a tight band! I would love to see this band live as soon as this stupid pandemic is over. \m/

I like how Ozrics always employ the tightest drummers out there so they can all sit on top of those grooves and do whatever the f they want :P

I love, love Ozric Tentacles. The complexity of their concept and the beautiful sonic layers are from a different world. The only thing I really could never stand is that drummer, who doesn't gel at all and doesn't seem to even be listening to the other members. It drives me nuts listening to that guy trodding around such great material like bull in a china shop.

I ain't no drummer but I think he does a really good job...

he plays on a click track. some of the synth sounds and effects are preprogrammed

He's a little sloppy but does an ok job if not slightly predictable - I liked the drummer on 'Sunset Jam' from a while ago its on YT somewhere?
@cpcnw6 жыл бұрын
@@joemojou6653 you been to their gigs? I have and there is a lot of 'seat of the pants' stuff going on - which makes every gig and track unique!

ZB - Don't agree with you. I am a drummer and played live with the keyboard player using sequencers an arpeggiators. Always had an issue of 'loosing' the pattern as guitar or bass players raised volume. Back in the mid-80's we did not employ a click track which would have made my life a lot easier and I could have added more of the 'natural' element to the live performance by knowing exactly what the electronics were doing. If you want 'exact' music, I'd suggest you get into Justin Bieber, Kate Perry, or any other pop star who has all their instruments 'quantized' for that 'perfect' timing...

30 secs its a bit Spinal Tap, becoming part of the band and crowd, becoming one etc. lol.

I have to say, the start of this is pure cringe. Brandi rambles drunkenly into the mic and then forgets she hasn't re-tuned her bass. Makes everyone stop while she re-tunes and then throws a mock-tantrum over the band filling in on with some bubbly synths while they're waiting for her. Literally jumps up in down like a child, saying she's ready now while they ignore her. Embarassing to watch. Later "shushes" the the crowd over requesting "old crusty songs" from early years (which ofc she wasn't a part of). I been a fan since long before she joined, and am always happier when she's not present. Decent bass player, just very "me" centric.

I love raw live performances but I think it's a bit gay that the drummer is wearing earphones. Sigh, poseur.

How else would he keep in sync with the click track?

erm please dont use the word gay as a putdown. its a very positive word a bit like bisexual or happy are, also :) I think you know where I'm coming from.

You apparently do not really know music nor understand what the drummer for the Ozrics has to deal with in a live performance... so sad, too bad!
