John's thumping the drums! Great live gig! No one could ever perform like Quo in the early days.

Rick Parfitts rhythm guitar really gells the whole quo sound! Superb band, one of the best british bands of alltime!
@widdyhabb15 жыл бұрын
I'd say he was the best drummer of them all! He had an energy and a strength in his playing that no one else ever came close to. Of course, Charlie Watts is always... Charlie Watts (never missed a beat!) , but he lacked John's incredible force. (IMHO)

I remember seeing a great photo of them around 1972 - Rossi, Parfitt and Lancaster, legs wide apart, hair hanging down, guitars nearly at floor level and a wall of Vox speakers behind them blasting out there tunes ! They were a great band ; Paper plane, Mean girl, Mystery song, great stuff.

Best Quo song ever,as voted by their own fan club.They should have stuck with rock n blues.Would have been taken more seriously by rock pundits later in their careers.Can't get much better than this.People like Plant's singing went downhill by '75,as did many legends,these were still harmonising beautifully in the noughties.Much underrated band.When I was a kid,Quo,got the biggest reaction from the crowd.

P90 equipped SG Junior to be more precise. Quite a different animal than the typical twin-humbucking Standard or Special. ;-)) (I love 'em all, though, as long as they are a twin-horned beauty.)

...stumbled upon this...classic footage, thanks. I remember why I bought a few Quo albums some time back (a long time back actually!) Quo were quoted as saying once, 'We are THE band that plays 12-bar'...you can't argue with that. Shame about the '80s rubbish, but Quo were down, hard and heavy during the Piledriver era...Parfitt on an SG? Wow, says it all...love this track...gotta be the best they did...greta to see this raw stuff again...
@bryemycaz16 жыл бұрын
Ok Your Forgiven ;). What id reallylike to know is though. This Video was redubbed with the studio version way back on the RTTY video. and later on the XSAA DVD why? This is fantastic stuff. and both those releases had live songs on them ie Caroline and Down Down from the NEC in 1982
@cohenterry71711 жыл бұрын

Was watching these videos after an excessive night at 3 in the morning, and now again worse for wear, but still works for me! It's well filmed and there must be a decent soundboard of this, maybe stereo or otherwise, so wondering if there's enough for a DVD. Would definitely buy that one.

Hey IrelandQuo. I actually live in Co Kildare myself. Do you know which TV station or even the programme that featured Bye Bye Johnny. Who knows... Maybe its still in their archives. Hope they didn't do what the BBC did and wipe loads of rare stuff like the OGWT

I know in New Zealand when I saw them play Roadhouse Blues, it was on a TV show called Gizago hosted by an ex pat Pom called Stu Dennison. We only had 2 TV stations at that time TV1 and TV2

Great clip. I like the way Alan fluffs a little at 1:00 (thinking he has to play the bridge to the solo which comes a verse later...) and Francis almost forgets the text at 2:56 and smirking at Rick :-) Great band, will always be a favourite, no matter what line-up.

Best Quo song by a mile. Didn't like anything after the Blue For You album. Like most bands, their best work is when they're hungry and still have something to say. For me, Quo became something of a cabaret act after '76. Pity, their first few albums still do it.

'Cast iron' kinda makes him sound harsh or a b*st*rd. He is neither, worship the ground that man walks on. Such a professional, team player, very talented, businessman and looks after everybody's best interest, including the road crew.

Francis was heavy into Cocaine as were Alan and Rick. John didn't do drugs. I heard Francis mention how too much cocaine ate away his septum. Probably not as bad as Daniella Westbrook of EastEnders fame though.

(whatever you want, in the army now, oder Rocking all over the world) extrem slapper Rock für ganz alte Semester.
