They locked in the Ascent meta for lower finals against TE too, and wrecked 2 very good teams on that map. I swear they were purposely nerfing themselves with non meta comps.

Yeah, and that one should've been the highlight because they didn't practiced much with the comp yet they destroyed a team that were very good on Ascent. Their util usage were on point it felt like watching a different team (aside from their typical aggressiveness style). I guess they were always trying to break the meta by over analyzing the meta comp and finding counter strats but eventually gave up because the map was going to be removed from the map pool anyway.

prx is pure example of how valorant changes, they used to just brainlessly rush a or b cuz they were skilled mechanically and just get away with it as if it was ranked but now have adjusted to playing quite well and keeping the enemy guessing while also individually popping of now and then. I guess on newer maps like abyss not much has really changed and it's still like ranked at vct but ascent is one of those actually well designed maps where having space and fighting for it matters.

I really liked this video, the only thing i think misses is that for me (as a Valorant noob) i dont understand, why its so important that this is the meta agent comb cause as you said yourself they just play insane and have very good and clean calling and plans. Is this just because of thier setup? What was different with the other comps they played? But its still a very good Video and i cant wait for the season to start and new bangers to drop

The reason it's a meta comp is because i ticks all the Valorant boxes (especially in high elo and VCT) Valorant is all about information. Wether passively (through ear) or actively (through utilities) Sova and Kay/o is an op initiator combo for ascent (especially with many paper-thin walls that are odin-spammable). Sova's ability is a valuable info-gathering and anti-sentinel clearing, while Kay/o will assist Jett and the rest with flashes, Molly to clear corners, and his knife for general info to clear small pockets Jett is a good enough duelist to dive to the usual switch with Jett smoke + dash Omen is still a flexible smokes that can tp to act as a 2nd entry (if you met a Reyna in your team, she will use her eyes and run through smokes) + omen has a flash to displace enemies to aidbthe Jett to dive (especially if you hit A main) Killjoy will be your eyes. Although you need extreme discipline and to not over agress, her kit is perfect to anchor a site by herself or to gather information regarding flanks and lurks so you have an assurance you didn't get back-stabbed And the reason the meta comp (for this team at least) is a big deal is because their duelist Jinggg has a very little agent pool. All he can do is duels, dive, and be aggressive (as any duelist should) And for him especially to be disciplined is a big deal to fix the team's lack of discipline and lurk opportunity Compared to their original comp (which is Raze, Reyna, Harbor, Omen / Viper, and Kay/o, all they must do is hold w like how your rank probably play the ranked game
