Just a casual observation but you do reveal a certain amount of excitement when you see he's there or has arrived. Just a bit. "Oh look! It's the tote man! The tote man is here! Should I help unload or start shopping right away? I hope he has good stuff. Last week he wasn't here and I was so bummed." Like I said, just a tad of anticipation.@@PaperandMoose

"Get out of my way, the Tote Man is here !" Great intro, and some awesome finds as well. Congrats on the interesting WW II items, the East Asian documents should be Chinese, because no Katakana or Hiragana characters to be seen. It was a good flea market day for you, Renée. Happy research ! 😉 Greets from GER, U. P.S. Balmoral castle in Scotland was the location where Queen Elisabeth passed away in 2022.

I know Balmoral sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. My brain can only handle so much each day! More WWII history to add to my research pile. I translated two more Berlin letters last night and perhaps two to three sentences were typed regarding life in Berlin in 1947. Little by little, this woman has revealed a little more about post-war life. I have many more letters to translate... almost want to take my time to make it last, as I know I will be sad once the final letter has been translated.

@@PaperandMoose Yup, life was very hard in post war- Germany between 1945 and 1948. Just see it as a true historian and keep some emotional distance to your valuable sources. Another fun-filled video of Miss Moose digging thru the tote man's wares, and not only finding Jesus. but Elvis too!.....Maybe the guy with the ephemera left it for you to find.😏 That Navy motion picture report is very cool. The film "Footlight Serenade" was made in 1942 and was a musical/romance film that starred pinup girl Betty Grable and also John Payne...🍿 All you need is a kilt, and those Scottish hats will look like a million bucks on you... Did you get any anxiety during this dig? .....You sounded very relaxed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was a different mood at the market this trip. I think with it being the end of the season, people are more relaxed and gearing up for whatever they do next in their reselling lives. Looks like you did pretty good! Those Scottish Tams believe it or not sell well The paper on the guy that was in China in 1945 is interesting Our military had lots of servicemen there anticipating an invasion of Japan and then to handle their surrender After the war they got caught up some in the Chinese civil war Years ago I was leaving the flea market when this old guy pulls up. Tossed out this wooden tool box, guy next to me opens the lid and pulls out this unusual brass handle Bowie knife bayonet, I grabbed a brass spontoon tomahawk Guy ask how much for the knife , old guy tells him $7, he said “ take $5?” Tells him no and the fellow puts it back in the box! I grabbed it faster then a striking rattlesnake! As I was paying for the old guy tells me I knew that was a $7 knife I asked him” don’t have any $10 ones around” Was a pre civil war bayonet that fitted over the muzzle of the musket, can’t shoot the gun with it attached. At one time they were thought to be confederate but now it seems to be from a Massachusetts militia I kept it for awhile but sold it couple years ago for almost $5,000
