@@debralpateart8862 some people do it to save up money to move into a legit place. Better than being on the streets for a while I guess. Search KZbin, you'll see videos of people who are intentionally living in storage units so as not to have to pay high rents. It's illegal but people are doing it. They run electricity off of car batteries for lighting, use a small microwave, a heat plate to boil water for coffee and tea. Some run extensions cords from outlets at the facility if it's an indoor storage facility, but they risk getting caught when they do that. It is, apparently, a thing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/foG5dIeChbOIsNE

Renee, I would take her medication to the storage place's office. I would leave a note on the locker as to where her meds are. She has probably been off her meds a couple of days if there has been activity by her locker. I would also call her prescribing Dr and let them know. She's been living there quite awhile because there is a screen door on the locker. I bet management knew she was living there. To replace her meds could be quite an ordeal. She will need to go to a county hospital or free clinic. Just the logistics of getting an appointment and a way there is more than I want to think about. Depressed, cold, and now homeless she needs to be plugged into the system.

I think she was couch surfing for sleep as there doesn't appear to be a bed or bed roll. The woman here was storing all her stuff for life and beauty/clean clothing. The things to look presentable and not homeless. The Foo Dogs and the fabulous pictures etc. She was using this for her daily needs, clothes, makeup, food (which you will keep or donate to a food shelf) and personal information. Very resourceful of her.

I don't know... Been one step away from the street more than once. NEVER thought of a storage unit. I think it is pretty resourceful. Not ideal, but safer than the street, I think. We (as a society) need to get more creative about spaces that might help the homeless. Buying up old storage units and installing shared shower facilities, bathrooms and laundry rooms might help a lot of folks.

I had a girlfriend that rented a storage unit behind her house. Told me the one next to hers this guy rented, he had it furnished with a bed, chair etc. She told me he would come, change, and dress as a woman and set in it and listen to the radio. Seems his wife didn’t know about this aspect of his life My girlfriend and me go up to her storage unit one day to load up for a show and there’s this van parked there, we start loading my truck Door to the van opens up and there is the guy from next door in this black evening dress and high heels. Girlfriend introduces me, I shake his hand and make some small talk We pull out to leave and I see the van door open and this other guy gets out and they go into his unit! OK

I am not an expert, and other countries do similar carvings. But they're worth a decent amount ($50-100) and can be worth more with really intricate carvings.
