I was depressed throughout my high school years and listening to them made me feel quite validated and made me realize that there's someone out there who understands. Mike is such an underrated songwriter. I feel like most casuals and general ppl dont even know that Mike writes and produces most of Linkin Park's songs. His duality/variety is insane from writing Papercut, One Step Closer to songs like Breaking The Habit, In The End, to songs like My December, Castle of Glass. Just so insanely talented. He deserves more recognition.

@Heybrotruthhurts8 күн бұрын
@AbelMusa not at all, true linkin park fans know but the general public or casual fans don't know this at all. They just think of LP as Chester's band and wrongly assume that Chester wrote songs he didn't. Even One More Light, ppl thought it was Chester telling his personal story when it was actually Mike who wrote it.

Chester Bennington. It's not fair that such a lovable person was lost to such a cruel monster. Thank you for your honest, relatable, poetic, visceral, beautiful, life-changing music. I really don't know what to say. This death has been hard on me. I can't imagine what his family, Mike, bandmates, friends, and fans all over the world must be feeling right now. I'm 40 years old now from Indonesia, heavily depressed, anxiety, & suicidal. I admit that when I was young, I never really liked Linkin Park. But now, as my life keep failing into crumbles, I've started to deeply appreciate all their songs (music & the lyrics especially). I never knew that Chester Bennington have actually been singing about depression (& perhaps many other mental illness, pain, & struggles). Their 'dark' lyrics is what actually makes me deeply relate now every time I listen to their songs.

Lol no depression makes you feel empty and takes away your will to do anything, it doesn’t give you schizophrenia.
@aliceloves19654 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Berry Schizophrenia isn’t the only disorder that causes psychosis. There is a subtype of depression called psychotic depression. PTSD can also have elements of hallucinations and delusions. And of course bipolar type 1 mania can reach a point of psychosis -someone who has gone through all three with schizophrenia being ruled out by multiple certified doctors.
@celexia44 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Berry depression doesn’t just sap your will to live. It also causes your internal “voice” to engage in negative self talk. It’s not an actual voice, more along the lines of dark thoughts that you can’t stop thinking. Haven’t you ever thought something about yourself, negative or positive, that’s the “voice” inside your head. Also, depression doesn’t manifest the same way to everyone. That’s why some people can manage on the same medications for life, others need to change their dosing and medications regularly and still others take their own lives. It’s why some people get stuck in a pit of despair while others become hyper aggressive.

Yeah, That's one of the reason why Linkin Park made a huge name in the industry in a very early phase while other rock artists made theirs after a while. All the songs from this album were so damn good, that's something you are unlikely to find in other artist's album. In today's generation, My vote is for Nothing More which is a re-formed band with the drummer talking over the vocals and damn, their first 2 albums(New Nothing More) are incredibly good.

Better from my shitty childhood, my parents break up, dad issues, my mother’s death. There's a weird conspiracy theory being spread online that says Chester was murdered for working on a documentary meant to expose a pedophilia ring- but all of their claims can be debunked with 5 minutes of research. Seriously, don't take my word, look it up- even the guy who made the documentary (of which, by the way, the production was cancelled before Chester died) said Chester had nothing to do with it. And the name he gave when you asked, 'John Podesta', was an advisor of Clinton. These people claim that because he vaguely resembles Chester and lived in Arizona in the 70s, that means he's Chester's biological dad and his mom cheated on his dad; and that because he worked with Clinton that makes him a pedophile and he was the one who abused Chester (even though Chester very clearly said it was another kid who did that)

Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left I don't know what stressed me first Or how the pressure was fed But I know just what it feels like To have a voice in the back of my head Like a face that I hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face that watches every time I lie A face that laughs every time I fall (and watches everything) So I know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is here in me, right underneath my skin It's like, I'm paranoid, lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin I know I've got a face in me Points out all my mistakes to me You've got a face on the inside too And your paranoia's probably worse I don't know what set me off first But I know what I can't stand Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is I can't add up to what you can But everybody has a face that they hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face that watches every time they lie A face that laughs every time they fall (and watches everything) So you know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is watching you too, right inside your skin It's like, I'm paranoid, lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath the skin It's like, I'm paranoid, lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The face inside is right beneath your skin The sun goes down I feel the light betray me The sun goes down I feel the light betray me it's like, I'm paranoid, lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath the skin (I feel the light betray me) it's like, I'm paranoid, lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within (I feel the light betray me) It's like, I can't stop what I'm hearing within (ah) It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

not sure when i was introduced to LP since i never had a choice in music until i had my own car. was all country all the time but nearly 40 myself an while my taste in music may change slightly LP will forever be one of the top bands in the made up list of bands in my head.
