I grew up listening to linkin park. I was depressed throughout my high school years and listening to them made me feel quite validated and made me realize that there's someone out there who understands. Now I'm 24 and my mental health state has improved a lot, but I really wish someone had done something to help Chester not to commit suicide. Rest in peace buddy. Your loyal fan from Iran.

@@donyashams7931 Yes. It is always the better choice. I mean what can you lose. Ending it.. yes it might help the one who does it, but most certainly it gives pain many others. My father used to say when we were little, that no matter what, just anything, we can work ot out.. there is nothing so bad etc. that we couldnt make it better from there on.. When the mind is black, of course this is hard to reason, but still.. if anything people, seek and ask help. Say you dont feel well. There is people who can and want to help, you all are worth it! We all are!

Mike is such an underrated songwriter. I feel like most casuals and general ppl dont even know that Mike writes and produces most of Linkin Park's songs. His duality/variety is insane from writing Papercut, One Step Closer to songs like Breaking The Habit, In The End, to songs like My December, Castle of Glass. Just so insanely talented. He deserves more recognition.

All of us who fans from the 1st moment we all knew that Mike was called the Genius/Glue/ rapper and Chester was the voice/emotion/Pain and Rob Dave Joe and Brad their talent speaks for themselves. Best group of people to ever do it. Rest in Peace Chester. I think if people would go watch LPTV from the very beginning it would help the new fans understand....

@Heybrotruthhurts
@Heybrotruthhurts 8 күн бұрын
@AbelMusa not at all, true linkin park fans know but the general public or casual fans don't know this at all. They just think of LP as Chester's band and wrongly assume that Chester wrote songs he didn't. Even One More Light, ppl thought it was Chester telling his personal story when it was actually Mike who wrote it.

Chester Bennington. It's not fair that such a lovable person was lost to such a cruel monster. Thank you for your honest, relatable, poetic, visceral, beautiful, life-changing music. I really don't know what to say. This death has been hard on me. I can't imagine what his family, Mike, bandmates, friends, and fans all over the world must be feeling right now. Now I will never be able to see Linkin Park live... I should have appreciated them more while Chester was still here.

Madellyn Pineda the 1st time I heard one more light was the day I had to put my 5 year old cat to sleep from kidney failure. Song made me ball my eyes out... looking back at that album, one more light, its like he was telling us what was going to happen, how he felt, it was one more album for everyone. I dunno if I'm just looking to deep into this or something but it is very coincidental.

R.I.P Chester...

Jay Clah Other albums of LP are also good but they aren't really Linking Park since it is no NuMetal. They started as Numetal band and also got famous with NuMetal. To most people their name is rather connected to NuMetal music .. but i guess this will change with future generations.

I'm 40 years old now from Indonesia, heavily depressed, anxiety, & suicidal. I admit that when I was young, I never really liked Linkin Park. But now, as my life keep failing into crumbles, I've started to deeply appreciate all their songs (music & the lyrics especially). I never knew that Chester Bennington have actually been singing about depression (& perhaps many other mental illness, pain, & struggles). Their 'dark' lyrics is what actually makes me deeply relate now every time I listen to their songs.

Nicholas Berry Schizophrenia isn’t the only disorder that causes psychosis. There is a subtype of depression called psychotic depression. PTSD can also have elements of hallucinations and delusions. And of course bipolar type 1 mania can reach a point of psychosis -someone who has gone through all three with schizophrenia being ruled out by multiple certified doctors.
@celexia4
@celexia4 4 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Berry depression doesn’t just sap your will to live. It also causes your internal “voice” to engage in negative self talk. It’s not an actual voice, more along the lines of dark thoughts that you can’t stop thinking. Haven’t you ever thought something about yourself, negative or positive, that’s the “voice” inside your head. Also, depression doesn’t manifest the same way to everyone. That’s why some people can manage on the same medications for life, others need to change their dosing and medications regularly and still others take their own lives. It’s why some people get stuck in a pit of despair while others become hyper aggressive.

Yeah, That's one of the reason why Linkin Park made a huge name in the industry in a very early phase while other rock artists made theirs after a while. All the songs from this album were so damn good, that's something you are unlikely to find in other artist's album. In today's generation, My vote is for Nothing More which is a re-formed band with the drummer talking over the vocals and damn, their first 2 albums(New Nothing More) are incredibly good.

The real ones are here for you Chester… I was 12 when I heard Meteora from a friend as a scout. I can’t forget that moment. Late in the woods, petroling in the night playing uno and sharing earphones to that album. My first original album to buy and I didn’t know how the world works and the album was there and made me feel better before going to bed. Better from my shitty childhood, my parents break up, dad issues, my mother’s death. I am 33 and no one is going to tell me to “get over you” and “move on” because Chester was there every night until I would feel better. New era my a*ss. They do it for money.

You talk as if Chester had just left the band. He died. He DIED. Do you want the band to die with him? Is that what you're saying? You don't have to like the new vocalist, and you're not obligated to keep following the band, but they have the RIGHT to start over. Chester died, but they are still alive. Alive to keep making music, which is what they love to do.

@@pandora3425 ignore that person. There's a weird conspiracy theory being spread online that says Chester was murdered for working on a documentary meant to expose a pedophilia ring- but all of their claims can be debunked with 5 minutes of research. Seriously, don't take my word, look it up- even the guy who made the documentary (of which, by the way, the production was cancelled before Chester died) said Chester had nothing to do with it. And the name he gave when you asked, 'John Podesta', was an advisor of Clinton. These people claim that because he vaguely resembles Chester and lived in Arizona in the 70s, that means he's Chester's biological dad and his mom cheated on his dad; and that because he worked with Clinton that makes him a pedophile and he was the one who abused Chester (even though Chester very clearly said it was another kid who did that)
