It does help that the film is made by Russians possibly on location in Russia (maybe on a former Soviet Army base or worker's village) Nothing like the actual former Soviet Union to give it the Soviet feel, this is less a video game movie and more a period piece for these guys.

Фильм возможен, только есть одно жирное НО. Сам трейлер не официальный, значит можно сказать фанатский. А подумайте «Сколько стоит сделать толковый фильм с толковыми актёрами и сюжетом» и «сколько СЕЙЧАС денег у создателей трейлера». Так и получается.

This looks like an amazing idea. I have heard of it since I learned of 'Papers Please'. Probably that was in 2016. I have one thing to wonder, though: How will this be fitted into a short film? The story of 'Papers, Please' takes time in 31 in-game days. Each day in the game takes about 6 minutes. 31×6=186 minutes. I understand several features will be omitted e.g. some insignificant documents and unique entrants seen only once in the game, but still, the game's story would still look so long. And the normal limit to short movies is 40-45 minutes, maybe 5 of such minutes are credits. 'But you are smart guy.' 'Probably figure it out.' 'Haha!'
