I wish so much I knew how to sew like this so I can make my own clothes, but it feels so hard 😭. This was gorgeously made!
@A.a.3192 жыл бұрын
Go to thrift stores, they always have sewing machines. Try to research them on your smart phone before you just decide on one. KZbin has videos to help you learn your sewing machine and many great women and men are on KZbin teaching people to sew from the vary starter basics to recreating a historical item by hand. . I learned everything I know from everything I just told you. My machines where hand-me downs and my husband bought a lot of my sewing equipment and tools on auctions for estate sales, at yard sales, at thrift stores. When I couldn't afford fabric I use sheets and up thrift. And I didn't know ANYTHING AT ALL WHEN I STARTED. At all! KZbin and the internet, I didn't have money for classes, and I didn't know anyone personally. I only have a smart phone and the unlimited knowledge of the internet and my own will. I have made now many different outfits, crop tops, one costume, a couple dresses and one man's night shirt. I'm NOT great. I'm still learning. But every item you can tell I'm improving greatly. Don't give up, you can achieve it. Also I live ina cottage like tiny house, and I barely have room but I still manage. Research tricks on compact storage for sewing items if you live in a tight area. It all starts with small things, my small thing was aprons. I love to make aprons. Easy, beautiful, and useful.

Can you do a tutorial on how to make and measure the pieces( back pieces, front pieces, etc..)🤍
@elinsoderstrom52893 жыл бұрын
im trying to make this dress myself, I had this problem too! I tried to figure out how to do it myslef and it was kinda hard. I took measurements and used the little math i can. It turned out ok, it was just a little small. So I tried making allys pattern (since her measurements are kinda similar to mine, just a little bigger) and tried it on. I made a few adjustments and transfered them to my pattern. Now it fits really good! When I figure out how all the pattern measurements relate to my own measurements I can tell you how to do it! :)

Hello, I noticed the organza ruffles against the lining on the bodice a bit. Try putting your pins horizontal instead of vertical. When pinning up and down it can shift your pattern pieces. Pin Horizontal with sharp edge towards the center for easier removal and less wrinkles! :) Your dress is so pretty and your instructions were very helpful! Especially the on screen measurements!!

Hi doll! I thrifted a huge cotton bed sheet and a (what I think) is a polyester curtain. Would you recommend these fabrics for this dress, or should I purchase the satin + organza combo you did? I LOVE YOUR CONTENT, thanks for making it!
@A.a.3192 жыл бұрын
So I followed the video and made a dress too. I did a couple things differently. I made mine a heart cut instead of square chest line. I also ran out of fabric so I didn't have enough for sleeves. Also because I didn't have enough fabric the dress is slightly shorter than expected. All together it looks kind of childish. I'm adding embroidered trim at the bottom of the dress with some lace over the seam at the bottom to add extra, cause I'm extra. I underestimated how much trim I needed for I need another run to the store. I also have as this costume tutu like thing that can be added underneath for layers. Oh I almost for got I also use a ribbon matching the fabric as a tie around the under bust. I wanted the dress to be loose Incase gain weight but also still have away to form fit. I still think the dress came out childish, but now I want to make a regency dress.

hiii! i actually commented on your last video but i just wanted to ask a question because i’m just starting to sew and you were my main inspiration!! um i just wanted to ask you how many yards of fabric do you normally get for a dress or skirt because i want to order some fabric and i’m not sure how much to get. i know a dress is a little bit ambitious for my second or third project ever but i’m really ambitious with everything lol so yeah. thanks!!!! 😊😊 (edit: spelling mistakes)
