This is SEW cute Jess! Sewing pattern journals are some of my favorite journals to make but I don’t think I’ve used the zippers in a fun way yet so I can’t wait to see how you use yours!! 🌷🌷🌷

Cute little project! I am looking for real vintage (1960’s) patterns to make a sewing journal right now. So far none of the prolific garage sales have had any😞. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.

I appreciate the video! I want to use the sewing machine in my journals, do you recommend a certain type or size of needle? Does sewing on paper dull the needle so that you would want to change it out before using it on clothing?
@jayneterry87012 жыл бұрын
I sew but hadn't thought of that! Maybe have a separate needle for your paper. Also Jess did use an awl first to poke the holes so that wouldn't effect the needle. 🙂 Hope that helps.

I scored dozens of old patterns at my Goodwill (few bucks for a few dozen). Love this idea! I was thinking I might combine your concept with Gayle A's idea of putting Amazon bubble packaging between the cover and inside paper. Love this little book and love all things sewing. This would make a great gift for someone who sews; he or she could use it to sketch pattern ideas, notes on projects, and put notions in pockets. Thanks for a great tutorial!

This is wonderful! I’ve been wanting to make a journal with pictures of the quilts I’ve made and this would be perfect! Does sewing through the original pattern envelope cause it to rip?

Great gift from one of your followers! I have my dress patterns from '69-'74. The commercial promo boxes I am not interested in seeing. They use wasteful packaging. The plastic is so polluting to manufacture and isn't biodegradable. Bummer!

Ah . I sew too but have so many patterns! Since I'm new to junk journaling I looked over my patterns and just pulled a few that I really liked but knew I would never sew ( out of style, size too small) So repurposing the cover of the pattern for a journaling cover I get to enjoy it that way!

I cringe, when l see vintage patterns, and buttons removed from perfect cards, to be used for projects. But, thats just me. 😢
