I really wish I could read her books. They'd be in spanish which is always difficult for me; I'm too impatient to translate every word I'm unfamiliar with. But it'd be worth it. She answered my question for me: I wondered if she was weird in latin pop-culture. And she has answered YES. But even so, I think enough people do acknowledge her talent. its not just the language...that Novel is psychedelic trip based on Dominican idiosyncrasies, you need to know the people and the stories to really understand.
