Thank you so much for making this tutorial. Your mirror frame turned out so well!! It's given me an idea that will save me a lot of money over buying wood molding and making frames to cover the metal window frames inside my travel trailer. Going for a country cottage look. Cheers!

Absolutely amazing. I might try latex as a binding or gluing agent and then chalk paint and dark wax as a finishing. I'm going to try this for a door mirror.

SandiRose27 Cardboard is very valuable to me! I find creative ways to store it in the basement so that it doesn't take too much room... cause a girlnever knows when she will need cardboard for crafting!!

Hi Emi, your talent is never ending. This is great! On the back you said you have about 7 layers of paper. Is that just around the hanger area for reinforcement or did you use that many layers all over?

Great idea! What kind of paint did you use as your base coat?
@Hectanooga19 жыл бұрын
Bernadett David It was a can of BEHR paint that I bought in the mix-tints section for $3.00,
@steamriceroll9 жыл бұрын
What kind of white paint do you use ? I am not familiar with paint, there are many kinds of paint in the hardware store. I will use ivory or silver colour for my bathroom.
@Hectanooga19 жыл бұрын
steamriceroll It was just latex wall paint.... I always buy the mis-tints when I see them for a few dollars, because I can always use paint. But you could also use craft paint in the little bottles, it's just that for big projects, it would cost so much to use those. So any type of paint that would go on walls is great, and I always use latex for ease of clean-up.
@heatherlikey9 жыл бұрын
One other thing, if I were to cover the top of the project with paint, could I use paper mâché paste, like Mod Podge or flour and water, which are generally cheaper; or do I need to use the paint?
@Hectanooga19 жыл бұрын
heatherlikey You could use any glue instead of the paint... I usually use it because when I am done, I am done, it eliminates one step. I buy my paints as mis tints, so I don't pay very much for them. Flour and water is fine... but I usually cook it in the microwave first, just to get it to a sticky consistency, I don't know if that preserves it or not.. or watered down white glue could be used as well. I find mod podge rather pricey, so for a large project like this, I think flour and water would be the less expensive route to take.
