Just reeling fast right when the lure hits the water. I don’t sink the jig when I whip it over shallows like this. But still yet I get snagged sometimes 🤙 Also no treble. I have one or two singles on

Nice! I was in Kauai last week but only managed to catch a micro papio and a little to'au. Mainly fished Hanalei and Nawiliwili harbor. Do you kill all the Roi that you catch?

Right on at least you caught some fish! Yes I always kill the roi because it’s invasive. But ima eat my next one. Heard they taste amazing. But just can’t eat too often because of ciguatera 🤙

Jigging in shallow water and no snags? Legend. What pound braid and leader you using? Also looks like your using a swivel with you’re jig? Might try that.

Haha thanks brah 🤙! Was using 20lb braid to 40lbs fluorocarbon. Swivel to the jig is nice when whipping shallows so line won’t get twists when the lure spins.

I always go early morning. Try to get to the spot before the sun rises and just start casting in all directions. A lot of it is luck. Also try a bunch of different places. Just hike around the coast line or look on google earth and find spots. I’ll be checking ur vids for when u catch a good one on a jig 🤙
