I totally agree with the use of the Bill Lewis lipless crank baits. So much fun. We should compare tooth marks on baits. Northerns and Bass love them. Merry Christmas! God Bless.

The Bill Lewis Hammer trap was a big player for me this past spring. I ordered a few after you had a video on them, and it paid off. The only surprise for me was the Ozark rig. From the sounds of it you are using it where I might be throwing a wacky rig. That makes a lot of sense to me now that I think about it. Thanks for the tips and have a Merry Christmas.

How do you know what jerk bait to throw and how fast to work it if you don’t have FFS?? I fish a river a lot and want to use a jerk bait but need advice please??

That’s a loaded question… generally speaking I’m going to work it faster the warmer the water gets. Which bait will depend on the depth and cover. This is a great video idea so I’ll dive into the whole process!

Matt, I would highly suggest you try a 6" Senko on the Ozark Rig 1/8oz. 4/0 hook. I caught numbers & LM bass (up to 8lbs) on it. I catch a lot of LM bass on a black-blue or black-blue-purple jig with the Yamamoto Double Tail Grub: smoke with black & purple flake. I use it on swim jigs, casting/flipping jigs. This trailer gives the jig a completely different look that the bass are not seeing & they will bite it. I'm down to my last bag. Is there any way to get Yamamoto to bring this color back? NE KS, NW MO area

I had a better year on the Ozark rig then I have had on a regular texas rig in a long time and the bill Lewis floating jerkbait i caught some nice ones on in 2024

Hey Matt, what are your thoughts on the Bill Lewis ATV cranks? I bought 3 of them because they are supposed to be pracically snap proof and there's nothing worse than losing a crankbait on some brush, etc. Anyway Merry Christmas

They are build to handle the abuse for sure! I’m not a huge squarebill guy, but I do like the ATV!
