The deal between Joseph Kabui and Lindsay Semple 's company, Invincible Resources, is causing confusion over the rights to un-mined copper and gold. Meanwhile, Bougainvilleans are outraged over the pact and are becoming angry. Locals claim Semple ripped them off, whilst contractors say they haven t been paid. One contractor said "it cost us a lot of money and also made us look stupid, which in this country is a big issue. "

I'm a Papua new Guinean and loved it when the bougainvillean guy said in tok pigins "development has to come first before mining activities." Love that line.❤

Rio Tinto and BCL are actually US businesses, NOT Australian. The USA owns about 96% of the company.

"Socio Economic & Environmental Impacts" The financial profitability of a mining project is insufficient to prove that society is benefiting and environmental impacts are minimum for the community to fall back after a mine closes. Therefore, multiplier effects of mining activities should improve living conditions and alleviate poverty, and ensure these benefits are sustained beyond the mine life.

I love Papua New Guinea I live there for two years 1973 The 1975 but now all I see is poverty and unrest in this beautiful country. So my question is if they hate the white man so much start the company up from scratch yourselves It's a Hard Thing to do I know but we live in the 21st century and it's not being white or black or brown it's getting along together to reach the ultimate goals of each other the one who invest the most is always the one that is rewarded the most and then the payments go down the line to the last Investor or shareholder or landowner, also at the end of the day they really do want to blame a race of people you can't everybody is involved even the Rothschild family that own billions if not trillions of dollars also the Rockefeller family which also own billions upon billions of dollars, for example Rothschild family get a percentage of every single note dollar note that has been printed and even other currencies throughout the world they get a percentage of every single dollar note or $5 note$20 note whatever the note is valued they get a percentage and not just from the United States of America lots of countries, so my question is to you Papua New Guineans you have the minerals in the ground but I am sad to say you have not got the technique to get it to the world market and this is why other people will help to make your life better but also it helps their lives as well it's called investing in each other's lives it has been some 20 odd years now you really need to move on quickly for yourselves and your children and your children's children we I'll need money in this world. But the pride of money can kill not just yourselves but also the people around you, and this is what I have seen in your documentation the pride of money that you want more and more I just hope that you all work towards the future of your people and your country for a better life for all.

30% is really good considering two things, that they are not capable of doing anything with the minerals themselves and that it is going to cost a lot more than that to get the minerals out of the ground and onto a ship.

@@healinggoddess85 This is why the country is so poor, the people are stupid. Left to themselves they would return to a stone age way of life and a life expectancy of 40 years, at least the ones that survived childhood.
