Indeed a friendship forged through blood, worth treasuring. On the same note, the plight of West Papuans needs to be talked about and addressed.

Very true, Senator. War was not a good thing. Both of my grandfathers were part of the Papuan Infantry Battlion in 42. They forged the battle of Milne Bay. The Japanese wanted to capture Samarai Island or what it was, then known as DINNER ISLAND & named by a British explorer, captain John Moresby, who had dinner on the island. 🇵🇬👌👍

Not only Rabaul but the battle at Kokoda was also another battle that was fought and the Japanese were defeated.

Australian soldiers were supported by the Papuan Infantry battalion (PIB). Since Papua and New Guinea were two different Territories i don't really think Papuans and New Guineans fought together.
