Seems like a lack of interest by the local residents , Im sure a lot of the locals was pleased they moved out of Aldershot , One thing for sure there is less fights in the pubs ,

There was a woman in the band. I didn't know the Paras were recruiting women now - I am a bit old and out of the loop these days.

Most regiments do nowadays however alot of combat roles are still restricted to men only because of biological reasons

Totally agreed !!!!!! That denison smock set these guys apart !!!! Dad was Ex-1 Para (1963-1974) and still had his & still wore when he transferred to the 'Hats' people.He stood out in the camp because of his smock.Our neighbour was ex-2 Para and a few houses down from us ex-3 Para.They certainly stood out !!!!
