I love that you took the time to explain how demanding this particular project is and how important it is to rest your hands!

that looks like a very nice bottle sleeve but I'm wondering if you should do a grey triangle as the first row of each section instead of a full square of red or blue so that they would line up better

I'm new to paracording. How much cord did you have left over? I want to do a beer cozy which is about half the size of the water bottle, and don't want to waste too much cord. Also, what size are the squares? Excellent, and very informative tutorial. Keep the videos coming.

Beautiful brother. this is really effort n time consuming and worth at a worthy price. whats the best price tag for this? i always have problems telling people the price for the lots of effort i put in. they thought i overcharge. for example i did 60oz bottle cover cows hitch closely full. i sold it at $100 it took me 3 days to do it.. its easier to do it with multiple colours. n its tedious to do with just 1 colour continously. any advice on this?

Mark you do excellent work but.... USE THE THE DAMN CORRECT NAMES FOR KNOTS. There is no such creature as a double half hitch. What you are tying is called a CLOVE HITCH. It as been called that for hundreds of years if not longer. But if you do want to get technical what you are actually tying is called a Breaded Bar. Sorry one of my pet peeves is people making up names for knots that already have one. Example a Cobra Knot. It is actually called a Solomon Bar. Learn the proper names. Educate them properly. Not sure of the name see the knot tiers bible. The Ashley's Book of Knots (The Old Testament ) and the Encyclopedia of Knots and Fancy Rope Work (The New Testament).

I learned the double half hitch years before I ever heard it called a clove hitch. Same knot different names. Other people have different experiences and have multiple names for the same thing. Don't be an ass just because you learned something different.
@mikkosnellman Жыл бұрын
Technically that would be "two half hitches" but depending on application knots have different names. In Macrame that is actually called double half hitch but "Macrame bottle covering" wouldn´t sound so cool for paracordist ;)

When I was being taught seamanship in the Royal Navy many, many, years ago, this knot had 2 names; the Clove Hitch when used on a post or other stationery object, but when tying up a boat a round turn was taken onto a ring and 2 half hitches added for security, so no surprise then it was called a Round Turn and Two Half Hitches.

A solomon bar is a series of cobra knots in a row, a solomon bar is not a name for a single knot. But if you really want to get technical, the cobra knot was originally called the reef knot or the square knot. Learn the proper names.

@@AbsoRuud76 According to the knotting bible that is The Ashley Book of Knots (ABoK) no: 2496 in the chapter dealing with Square Knotting, he states “A series of Left and Right Half Knots forms a Solomon Bar, which has no tendency to twist. This is the typical knot that is responsible for the name square knotting.” No mention of Cobra Knots.
