I've been making paracord items for a few weeks now and have learned quite a few knots/weaves, so you can imagine how many videos I have gone through to learn many of the techniques available to us on KZbin. This braid however has been a struggle for me to master. Thanks to you sharing this tutorial I have watched a few times now, I can finally produce a consistent 4 strand round braid. Thank you very much!

First of your videos I have watched, just beginning my journey into tying paracord, enjoyed this quite a bit. On your comment about blocked rude people - one of the issues we have in society today is people believing they have to tolerate rude and crude behavior. We don't. I applaud your actions.

I have been crafting braided items (lanyards, keyfobs, whips, etc) since the late 1960's. Back then, I was working (mostly) with flat stock... leather strips, vinyl, etc. At one point, I believed it was a "lost art". Glad to see the art is coming back... Vas

I wanted to thank the Paracordist for these great videos. I've been a knot-head all my life but this is stepping it up a notch! I'm learning a lot and having fun. After seeing this video I tried different variations of the same idea, splicing the four strand round braid back into itself...either for a loop, or as asked, for a complete circle (necklace). I am finding that when I do it right, it turns into doubled four strand round braid (four pairs of two) I end up having a loop of four strand round braid with a lead of doubled four strand round braid...that eventually peters out to only four strands again....I can run them all through a ring and weave them back in again, making it doubled four strand all the way back to where it all started....hope that makes sense.

Good vid Kevin. thankyou for mentioning me. One thing I might suggest on your needle nose pliers is to file off the ridges so it is smooth. Less chance to catch on the paracord and snag it. I use mine all the time since like you showed you want the braiding to be consistent and using the pliers to snug things up works great.

Anyone who is bothered by the sound of typing in the background of your videos is just getting too frustrated and should take a break. If that doesn't help them relax a little then maybe they should find something that requires less patience. Those bothered by the sound of the children who often surround you really need to learn the more important of the two things that you impart when the kids are around. The lesser of your practices being the braiding and the much greater lesson being taking care of, and teaching children how to have fun while learning and working. Your interaction with the kids is entertaining so carry on as you have been and thank you for it all.

You have a very nice manner on your videos. I have a question, I’m looking to make a short braided rope with I loop on each end. Please correct me if I’m wrong but it seems that all the strength of this loop is where one cord goes around one loop in the end of the rope. So essentially the loop is only as strong as one paracord? All I missing something?

@hofzeiowa87910 жыл бұрын
Cool idea! You would need alot of cord, most knots are 1ft of paracord = 1 in of knot...as for the next question there are many ways of doing so and there a a couple examples on youtube just search paracord keychain clip, its basically the same concept

Hi Kevin, I was hoping you could help me. I already made my 4-strand braid leash to the length I want it but after coming to the end where I wanted to finish my loop I realized using the 4-strand braid for the loop would be a bit rough on my girlfriend's hands when walking the dog so I wanted to transition the loop into a different style braid...something with a round shape like a "sawtooth or corkescrew" but I just can't figure out how to transition the 4 strands for something like that. Any chance you might be able to make a short video making a transition? I would greatly appreciate it!!!

thanks kevin for your aweslme videos. love the kids btw. i came up with a fancy way of dealing with 8 strands for making a dog leash if i can figure out how to send you photos on this thing i will. basiclly you make a length of braid in the middle of your cord as long as you want the loop to be. join them with lanyard knot doubled with the foir you have left (2 on each side,) you cobra stitch back over the loop meeting in the middle and then hiding ends in cobra braid.
