Think spring with this sunny paracord bracelet! The complex-looking design is easier to construct than it looks. If you know how to make a simple cow hitch/larks head knot, you're already half of the way there. This is that flower bracelet you've been seeing on TikTok!

Hey PP, excellent design! I consider it better than the ones that have been around for a while and are based on the original Aztec Sun Bar. Your tweaks make the results more aesthetically pleasing and more robust (no daisy centers popping out). And as usual your tutorial was very well done. Cheers, Murray

Can we do it in woollen thread or any other strings...nylon for example
@KaoXoni
@KaoXoni 2 жыл бұрын
Wool? Well... Use a type of yarn that isn't too lofty so its knots don't turn out smaller than the diameter of the uncompressed string. So you are looking for rather stiff materials like jute, hemp, flax/linen... or the kind of cords used for kumihimo. Maybe satin lace might also work here, depending on the knot design. Paracord is a woven/round braided tube lining center cord. You'd want to mimick its noodly character in other materials of choice.

Can you do this on a noseband for a horse halter?
@paracordwizard
@paracordwizard 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will work well for a halter or noseband or collar etc. I would recommend you use a more rigid fastener like a buckle as presented below to Teresa. The other suggestion I have is to make the product a little bit longer and immerse it in boiling water for 30 seconds and let it air dry overnight. This action will shrink the band / bracelet linearly by just over 6%. Shrinking it will stiffen the structure making it more durable and give it an element of slightly more stiffness / firmness so it will be more appropriate for an animal harness. The shrinkage process with boiling water will mean that the device will never shrink any further if it gets wet and you can wash it with gentle soap and it will not experience any shrinking or color shifting. One final note: Make sure you know the nature of the paracord you are buying. The products from USA manufacturers do not experience color bleed. My very 1st purchase of paracord had been sourced from an offshore manufacturer and every single color except white bled the colors out when immersed in water and my designs that had multiple colors quickly became an ugly mess, Cheers, Murray

Can this be made with a buckle?
@paracordwizard
@paracordwizard 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, a buckle works well with this design and it extends the usage of the device to a number of other applications like a collar or strap or band that requires a tighter fastening mechanism. So at the beginning of the work, after you have made the top loop, simply feed the loop into either side of the buckle and loop it over to form a cow's hitch . Here is a photo from an older design (this PP design being much better) but the loop section is the same. drive.google.com/file/d/1AhfikpccW3w2RC5xDLfhyEM1y5GKCwqX/view?usp=sharing For the other side of the buckle, I have found 2 good options. 1. When you are making your last flower and weaving the last loops with your white cord, just feed them through the buckle before putting them through the last opening in the cord. drive.google.com/file/d/1ixmR_fwf1GpvF65Da_dCjzM0l_AxgE4G/view?usp=sharing 2. The other option is to take the loose green ends after the weaving is complete and feed then through the buckle leaving approx 1/2 inch of slack. Then make 2 Cobra knots to lock down the buckle, cut and melt. Cheers, Murray
