Wow! Nothing but wow! After boot camp at Ft. Leonard Wood, I came to Ft. Sam for Basic Medic Training (MOS91B10). I was there from May to August 1972. We lived in two-story wooden barracks that dated back to WW2. From there I went to Ft. Gordon, GA, for Clinical Specialist School (MOS 91C20). You'd have to be an old timer like me to remember 91 Charlies. You men and women training at Ft. Sam have quite a different life but it's a different time. Study hard, live up to the creed and traditions of your service, and make your comrades proud. God Bless!

I got 91A in 1990, combat medic and I had 91C among others later, it was one of the nursing series. Of course, back then the entire 91 series was medical. I was still in when the change to call it 68W came down but I never have been able to call myself that. I worked damned hard to be 91A and I was a good medic and i just cant associate. Idk. Nice to meet you.

I was there in 81-82 training as a 91D Operating Room tech. There were so many females training there a group if us were sent to live in old broken down WW2 barracks. The only good point was we were so far away none of the cadre bothered us.

January 20, 2018: I trained as a medic there in the spring of 1975, and was later assigned to the Presidio in San Francisco for further EENT instruction. Since I'm from Albuquerque, I chose McAfee Army Healthy Clinic as my permanent duty station. I'm 62 now with three graduate degrees, but am hoping that my recent move to central New York will be a success. Blessings in 2018, Kate *For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

I retired from there in 1998, best assignment I ever had @ Brooke Army Medical Center. almost all my time as a medic and O.R tech prior too that was spent in combat divisions: 2nd ID DMZ, 101 st ABN, 3rd Arm div, and the prision @ fort leavenworth ks. the troops before us had it harder and lived a much harder life.

What? Lmao we had open bays, mixed platoon somewhat and communal bathroom in the hall with toilet stalls and open prison shower, just shower heads from the wall. If you were shy when you got to medic AIT, you weren't when you left. How did these kids get all this? Because in 1990, we were 91A and 91B were prior service. When did this change?
