So the last few weeks , I’ve been learning a bunch of songs for this new band I have been auditioning for . They literally have like 1000 songs in their catalog. They are very professional and as a matter of fact - they never use a set list . They just feel the crowd and take it from there . I’ve been to a lot of their shows and each show was like 90 % different. It’s one hell of a challenge for me right now . I play bass - Rock Bass mostly . I use a pick 90 % of the time ( depending on the song ). For Guns and Green Day songs - yes ! For Who and Zepp songs- no . Just depends ya know . Ok what is my point ??? Haha I have no point . This video is just freakin awesome !! Oh - I did have a point : I noticed that each time I saw this band I’m going to audition for play , I heard at least 3 GNR songs . So these last two weeks I’ve been learning Appetite songs . I’ve been listening to that album since the late 80’s . Each band I have been in the past , we never did any GNR . ; well one band did Sweet Child once but the singer absolutely butchered the vocals . Anyway - All this time I never realized how amazing Duff is . I mean I always thought he was a decent player . Well after trying to learn these songs - my opinion has changed dramatically. He may be one of my top favorites of all time now . Some of these bass lines just blow me away !!!!! Great work out !!!!! Sorry so long of a message but I just needed to share with someone haha . Ok - I got my work cut out for me . Lots of songs to learn ! If I don’t get the job - oh well - at least I leaned a bunch of new tunes for my current band . ( they don’t know - I’m not saying a word to any of them ). I was going to ask my drummer to help me make a demo with just bass and drums , but I figured that might not be a good idea haha 😂 Why would he help me join another band ? Haha Ok wish me luck !

No worries about the long message! 1000 songs and no setlist? Wow! A lot of bassists I know are in more than one band - because there's not a lot of us, we're usually highly sought after. Play in both, I say! Good luck!

@@PookBidault Thanks brother … As I sit here today , I have yet to hear from the professional band . I know they are busy . In the meantime- I’m still going for it with my current band . It was really hard to find a guitar player who is on the same exact page as I am . He’s a definite keeper - even if I do get the gig with the pros . I wish I met him 20 years ago !! Ok -- I’ll try and keep you posted 🙏🙏

He just challenged me to learn “ Sir Duke “ by Stevie Wonder . He’s out of his mind !!! I’ll give it a shot . Definitely Not my style but hey - the more you know , right ?? ( I just have a bad feeling about this one hahaha ).

¡Hola y gracias! El bajo está conectado a la compu por medio de una interfaz. En ella solo uso el simulador de amps de Garageband. Este, creo, es Modern Stack. Para canciones de Guns a veces agrego un chorus, pero creo que ésta no lo tiene. ¡Saludos!
