Paradise Found in El Valle de Antón, Panama

Incredibly interested in moving to Panama, I've just returned from 10 days in El Valle and Altos del Maria - and LOVED the area! I wish I'd have "met" Sunne here before being in El Valle, as I did see her gorgeous place as I roved the streets for days there - she's TOO COOL, isn't she?! She's totally right about the "community" in El Valle vs Altos - the latter has beautiful (and more affordable) homes, but that's all - great for more introverted folks who want to totally live in their home, but no real community (other than the small expat circles there). The geologic history of El Valle has provided some of the richest soil on earth - so the overabundance of fresh organic foods is insane! A "gardener's paradise" (I'm a horticulturalist - so it matters!), and wonderful place that I'll soon be calling "home"! WOO HOOOOOOO!!!

After watching this video last year, I made it a point to visit El Valle when I went to Panama this month. I absolutely fell in love with El Valle. I found it to be EVERYTHING Sunne said and more. When you find a place that speaks to you, you know. I knew the minute my feet touched the ground. And the people were so kind. I think living in such a lovely, peaceful place makes the residents extra special and kind. I can't wait to return!

We just got back from traveling to El Valle de Anton last week and we are in love!!! We have visited Boquette and Volcan and Cerro Punta last year and they are all lovely, but Sunne said it so well when she talked about the peace and tranquility and the natural beauty there! We saw a sloth while horseback riding up into the mountains as well. We finished our permanent resident visas last week and can't wait to be able to live there in El Valle !!! It's all that she says that is!!!

I always have a hard time adjusting back Into the faster pace and miss the simpliity foreign lands seem to give me and call my soul. Ive been looking at Panama since early 2000 and im jus about certain my heart will fall in love with El Valle. I had to chuckle when you talked about not being able to be bilingual I too find that its something my brain jus doest seem to grasp well but well enough to get by. El Valle looks so ideal. A climate where you don’t feel the need for air conditioning 24/7 - and you have incredible nature all around with trails for hiking so close. It looks like you can reach shopping in Coronado or a beach in an hour. It’s a fantastic location. I am in love with Sunne. Everything she said about the importance of peace resonated and her narration was great. I love her home and the style with the vibrant colors and the artwork. I think I would like to have social opportunities with other ex pats and I know there is a large expat community in Boquete and Volcán. Are there many expats around El Valle or are they mostly in Coronado?

Sunne, I loved your video but most of all your energy. In January 2023 I will be returning to Panama for my second visit before retiring there, I am so ready to live in Panama but I have an older best furbaby and I feel the move could be a lot for him. I am also very spiritual and felt a lot of peace on my last time in Panama where I stayed in Boquete, the stars were aligned and I felt so much peace with my friends that I met and loved in a short time. Perhaps you need to go there... I've experienced this even in my home country Canada. While I lived in Brasil, I tried to buy land near Vancouver, but couldn't find a realtor easily who took me seriously. It was a bit of a struggle. I think you really need to BE there. Or give them some money up front

Having watched your video I’m now determined to return and check it out. Alas, the Panama relocation tour I took a few weeks ago didn’t make it to Valle de Anton. (I think they were concerned that the vehicle was too large/unwieldy to maneuver some of the access roads to The Valley safely, I gather they can be windy and steep. My only concern is that the demographic may be too homogeneously affluent for me.

We often go to El Valle de Anton during the tour. No problem with the bus going there. It all depends on timing and how bad traffic is out of the City
